So I've pretty much played CO every day since Beta, and am getting a bit burned out now. I really enjoy the game, and like logging into one of my 40's for a quick Nemcon or such, but I'm finding it hard to start a new alt now. Anybody have any advice or such? Do you think I should just take a break until Demonflame and the pet patch come out? Part of me wants to keep playing, but another wants to stop...

Yeah. I was burnt out until SL came out. And in goofing around with that when it came out I got another character all the way to 40 and realized I missed playing my main.
I've not played much again for the past 2 weeks due to time issues.. but when Demon Flame hits live I'll be back in it with my main farming CTP mats and enjoying the new content.
Doesn't hurt to take a break now and then. It's a game, not a lifestyle :)
Besides, it's been 13 months since we bought our lifetime subs. After Oct, it's pure profit whether we play once a day or once a month.

I think one of the things that is hitting me is trying to go from a fully equipped 40 to a newbie character, and trying to not repeat any powers I've already done, yet the ones that are left just seem kinda meh, (which is probably why I passed them up the first couple of times through)...

At the risk of sounding overly optimistic, I would say try PvPing. As popular as it is to hate on MMO PvP, our PvP community is actually rather friendly and supportive. There are many interesting and eye-opening playstyles you may never see in PvE. Many of us are there for burn-out therapy; a human opponent is far more interesting than an AI one.
I also find that timing speedy lair runs to be very entertaining and challenging. It also encourages you and your friends to fine-tune your builds and playstyles, which in itself can be very fun and may breathe more life into those characters you might otherwise have shelved.
Then there's roleplaying, I have no experience in this realm, but there's gotta be a reason why Club Caprice is still in business.
Hmm one last idea, I recall when I was getting bored with CoH I started running superteams with my friends, all VEAT teams, all defender teams, blaster teams...etc. Those are always great fun, it should be especially fun here since CO lets us fill the same roles in many different ways. The only problem here is dealing with the ease of PvE (which is a problem with teaming in general); you'd have to run those instanced missions scaled at elite to get any excitement out of teaming.....or run with a team of Power Ranger wannabes.
I'm also curious as to what everyone else does to stave off the feeling of having "done everything". I totally understand what you mean about how the leftover powers seem "meh" though.
EDIT: Maybe even have a an in-game forum-regular meet-and-greet. Forum-regulars love this game ammmriight?

I was feeling a little burnt out too this week. it has been 13 months and many of us have been playing since beta. To cure it I'm going to take my highest level toon (27) and actually do MI and SL and pretty much do the second half of the game that I haven't seen yet. Too many alts.:o

I get burnt out fairly frequently with CO. Just take a month or two away. Play something else, then come back refreshed.
I'm currently playing STO and have to say that I am absolutely loving it! Its very polished compared to CO. You can really see where a few extra devs / bucks spent can make the difference.
I'll be back in CO, but I'm enjoying STO so much I may delay my return a little longer.
...still lurking in the forums though.

I tried to find some old thread where I stated all the various things one could do to fight the burn-out, but sadly I couldn't find it; so we'll the do this the good ol' fashioned way.
Basically, the best way I have found to fight the burn-out, is to set yourself some previously unachievable goal.
For instance, there's Perk Hunting, collecting Action Figures, try PVP in all tiers, make a Crafted Travel Power, Roleplay, form-up a SG, do all the missions that you might have missed, etc, etc...
Those are just a couple of the top of my head, but you know where this is going. Basically, these sort of lengthy objective will give you a purpose whenever you log in; and while you are busy doing those, you are very much likely to come up with a new Character that you will really want to take all the way to 40. I'm sure there are a lot of Power Sets or singular Powers that you may have missed, such as Laser Sword, Gauntlet Chainsaw, or in my case, Archery and Munitions.
Or maybe you have already done all those things, but truthfully, I think it's doubtful. Plus, Blood Moon and Demonflame are right up the alley, so you just have to hold up a little longer. :)
