Yes, it's me again.

Powerhouse is nice, maybe too nice. Retcon is a curse. For days now, I've been trying to find a build that fits me, but I can't seem to find one. Compared to the last thread I made, I've made up my mind and have thought about making some sacrifices.

Now, what I have in mind is a durable damage dealer, that could work well in PVP, but also in PVE (I assume good pvp damage usually work in PVE too). There's a catch though, I have to include atleast one Superstat I can't reset, and that's Dexterity.

Powers I like (as Dex is one of my SS's) is Lightning Reflexes, so I would prefer if the build includes that, but certainly not needed, if there's a better choice.

So compared to those requirements, I'm open for anything. Please help me out of Powerhouse and the terrible curse! :o

Sounds to me like you want an Unarmed Martial Arts Build. Try this one:

Build by championBuilder 0.4.1

Download this Build here.

Keanu Reeves: Level 40 Champion

Superstats:
Level 5: Super Dexterity
Level 13: Super Constitution

Powers:
Level 1: Righteous Fists
Level 1: Thunderbolt Lunge -- Nailed to the Ground, Crippling Challenge
Level 5: Lightning Reflexes
Level 5: Teleport -- Rank 2
Level 8: Dragon Kick -- Rank 2, Lashing Dragon Tail, Accelerated Metabolism
Level 11: Bountiful Chi Resurgence -- Resurgent Reiki
Level 14: Form Of The Unfettered Master -- Storm's Eye Prana
Level 17: Burning Chi Fist -- Rank 2, Rank 3
Level 20: Masterful Dodge
Level 23: Way of the Enlightened Warrior -- Rank 2, Rank 3
Level 26: Inexorable Tides -- Instep Crush
Level 29: Resurgence -- Evanescent Emergence
Level 32: Energy Shield -- Laser Knight
Level 35: Electric Sheath
Level 35: Acrobatics -- Rank 2, Versatility
Level 38: Electrocute -- Rank 2

Talents:
Level 1: The Hero
Level 6: Martial Training
Level 9: Covert Ops Training
Level 12: Field Ops Training
Level 15: Academics
Level 18: Coordinated
Level 21: Shooter

Switch between WotEW in Brawler and LR in Guardian as needed. Make sure to grab some Str gear to buff your melee damage. You'll have plenty of survivability and good damage output. Electric Sheath and Electrocute are fillers, you'll probably want a hold for PVP though. If you're wanting to do lairs drop the sheath and pick up Evasive Maneuvers and drop a rank from... something... to pick up the Sleight of Mind advantage on it.

I actually used to be a martial artist/brick mixed build before I hit 40, but this seem more structured and nice. I wonder, would there be any differense if I choose Dex/Ego instead of Con as Superstat? I know it kinda works for Dual Blades and Munition, but I'm not sure how it would work on Unarmed Melee.

If you want to survive in PvP no. EGO has a low soft cap for crit severity, 50% plus is easily achievable with items and resurgance is boosted by CON also.

Would it be a good idea to get Resurgence for the "OH ****" moments? I used to have it in my builds as it heals pretty nicely. I mean, since it scales with Con.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I found out it's already in the build above. :D

EDIT:

I also found out you also mentioned it. Work is not a good place trying to think.

Here is a mixed ranged/melee variation on Stray201's build.

It's not perfect - Aversion isn't going to give much of a boost to LR. However, it offers you a way to deal with the abundant Might and DW builds. You can bounce in and out with TBL/Evasive, and stack damage with WtK and Burning Chi Fist. Also, you can equip perception gear and see teleporters.

I personally prefer Retaliation as the block, since it gives Burning Chi Fist the chance to do some real damage. But the LR/BCR/LK stack is tough to beat for survivability.

Level 5: Super Dexterity
Level 13: Super Intelligence

Powers:
Level 1: Strafe -- Aversion

Level 5: Acrobatics -- Versatility
Level 8: Thunderbolt Lunge -- Nailed to the Ground, Essence Assault
Level 11: Lightning Reflexes
Level 14: Form Of The Unfettered Master -- Storm's Eye Prana
Level 17: Bountiful Chi Resurgence -- Resurgent Reiki
Level 20: Torrent Of Arrows -- Relentless Recurve
Level 23: Dragon Kick -- Lashing Dragon Tail
Level 26: Explosive Arrow -- Where's The Kaboom?
Level 29: Energy Shield -- Laser Knight or Retaliation
Level 32: Burning Chi Fist -- Rank 2, Rank 3
Level 35: Electric Sheath -- Matter - Energy Union
Level 35: Teleport
Level 38: Resurgence -- Evanescent Emergence

That's a pretty interesting build to be honest. Why INT as a superstat though? To be able to spam more powers or?

Do not take aversion. It wil keep you at the 55% dodge cap which you will already be at from LR. Use those points elsewhere.

Also Dex/Con works just as good with that build as Dex/Int. I assume the Int is for perception when people use stealth powers. I also suspect that the build is Geared. Dex/Con/Ego.

**EDIT**
Added in second paragraph.

I chose the first build and modified it a little for my needs, and it's really fun to play so far. What I did was to add the advantages to other places from skills that doesn't need the points, like the travel powers (especially TP).

INT is a nice all-around stat. By reducing energy cost on all powers, INT implicitly multiples the energy gain from things like your MA Form. It reduces cooldown times, which will impact your BCR, Resurgence and Electric Sheath. Since you like LR, you won't gain any energy from your passive (like you would with Defiance or WotEW).

But, like I said earlier, it isn't quite perfect because you're not getting real value from Aversion. Using Defiance, Quarry or WotEW would get better value from the DEX/INT combo.
