Alright. I have been spending quite a bit of time on the PTS looking for a good level 40 build that I will retcon my DB character into, and I think I have found it. So, without further ado...

Pretty much a Single Target Tank/DPS. Stacking Con/Dex with a little bit (50+) End gets me to 10,114 HP 53% Dodge and 73% Avoidance Unbuffed. And that is without purples. Works great for PvP (What I have been able to test on the PTS) and it is fun. Laser Knight + Laser Sword look awesome together.

But, any advice on how to improve this build?

That's it in a nutshell, for me. :)

I don't see anything wrong with it, although I am not sure you can get Lightning Reflexes at level 1... and I'd maybe get those powers in a different order, but if you're retconning at level 40 it hardly matters.

If you take the Unarmed builder, you can get LR at level 1. You just have to go retcon. And yeah, this is my retcon build, so power order isn't my priority.

But, I was considering getting rid of either Imbue or Inexorable Tides. It seems semi useful and all, but I rarely use it. As for Imbue, it does work well with this build, but in order for me to get the full effectiveness out of it, I have to stop energy building, Imbue, and then Charge up Dragons Wrath. At which point, yeah, I do a 3.8k Crit in protector stance, but in all that time, I could have spammed Laser Sword 4 more time and gotten the same amount of damage without the hassle.

But, then I have the problem of what other powers I should take if I got rid of these two.

Thoughts?

Hate to double post, but I changed something in the build... Not sure if this'll still be good, but for AOE with a little more threat generation... I have been soloing Serpent Lantern on Elite on the PTS. Can pull a full checkpoint (Including Osprey) and not die.

Moved some powers around. Switched Inexorable Tides for Sword Cyclone with Accelerated Metabolism and Challenging strikes for Aggro generation. Now I have an AOE. I also took away rank 2 from Imbue, which I think is fine.
I could always switch imbue for somethign else though.

Any ideas what other powers I could get that would help this build?

I don't know that it would really HELP, but Eye of the Storm (the advantage or the power, I forget which is which: it's early :P) offers some good protection. Works better with Regen, since you can heal up while your damage-reduction is whirling around you.... but I suppose it could also give you a breather for an Active Defense or device to recharge, and it DOES (or CAN, anyway) do PBAOE damage. Roots you in place, though, last I looked.

The last two power choices are always hard for me to pick. They almost always end up being rarely-used situational powers, or click-powers (ala Resurgence) that I don't generally use that often.

Since you have CON superstat you could always get Defiance - can't run at the same time as LR, of course, and dropping out of LR mode would reduce the effectiveness of Bountiful Chi Resurgence.... but if for some reason you wanted more energy-return or raw protection.... I dunno....

I suppose the only thing ~I~ would prefer would be some form of AoE control or ranged AoE damage. Sonic Device + AoE attack not only stuns but does wicked damage. Ego STORM (with Malevolent Manifestation) is a favorite PBAOE hold of mine.... fire-and-forget protection that locks down any foe foolish enough to be --- or BECOME --- close to me.
