This is not my first MMO, I have been involved in several, and I know that it is common practise to give the player a 'quest indicator' so they know where to go to complete a mission.
Personally, I don't particularly care for this practice. How many folks just grab a mission without reading it and run for the green circle? Plenty, I'm sure, and I can't say I have never done it.
I think that if we had no green circle right away, we would read the missions more, understand them, and be more immersed in a story. Perhaps if you had troubles finding your way, you could ask the quest giver or some other informant for more details in exchange for 5% mission XP (5% = random figure) or some such.
It just seems that many of my favorite superhero tales involve detective work as well as muscle; slapping a huge green circle on the map as soon as you get a clue just seems to take a lot of potential fun away.

This isn't a hardcore MMO. You are one person out of millions of people who play MMOs, and guess what? Everyone else would rather get full quest rewards and not less because they couldn't figure out where to go.
I think theres a free MMO out there where you NEED to read the quest dialog, and then remember it, because there are no map markers, no journals, etc. That might be the place for you.

Hmmm. Perhaps i should have used some smileys and happy colors - I am not saying anything is broken.
This is the place for me, and I'd like to see it get better. If I'm in the minority on a topic, I can accept it without packing my bags and leaving.

Now with that said, guess this:
Black blood of the earth.
You mean oil?
No, I mean black blood of the earth.
This one is too easy, so no clue!

It often just seems so mindless, like lemmings running after green circles. I'd be really surprised if there aren't a lot of folks who feel the same way.
And uh . . . I don't recognize the line . . .

Maybe for people who have just made their first character and want to experience the story, but afterwords it just becomes a chore. Not to mention if somebody is very forgetful playing the game they will be unfairly punished by getting less exp from every mission. And since there are only a finite amount of missions available, you could end up in a position where you'd be stuck at a level and have to grind your way to the next level because you couldn't remember where to go and had to give up 5%+ of your experience.
It's a very newbie unfriendly suggestion, to be honest with you.
I'm sorry if my previous post sounded rude and negative; I have no intention to tell you to quit or anything. You just have to look at these suggestions with every player in mind.

I think some more detective work could be a good thing.

Werd.
But I'll elaborate.
I'm a big proponent for giving peoplo more reason to read the mission text. However I'm also a big believer of adding to the game rather than taking away from it. In this case, I'd rather add other reasons for the mission text, like story or something, or possible secondary objectives for extra xp.
I agree that this would be good, but as was pointed out, after blowing through the same missions over 10-15 times it get's kind of painful to have to read it again.
