Greetings, Captain!

We've been taking advantage of the longer days of summer to put together tons of great updates for Star Trek Online. Here's some of what's been cooking at Cryptic HQ.

We're happy to introduce our next huge content release, Season Two: Ancient Enemies. This latest update doesn't just extend what you're already enjoying in Star Trek Online; it introduces all new gameplay, too! Here's what you can expect:

A raised level cap, from level 45 to level 51.
Klingon Episodes, written specifically for the Klingon faction.
The Federation Diplomatic Corps. A peaceful way to seek out new life and civilizations, as well as a new advancement path!
Dabo. Play the casino game made popular in Deep Space 9.
Feature Episodes. Each week, for over a month, we'll be releasing a brand new episode playable at any level.
And more! Check out our Season Two: Ancient Enemies informational page to learn more.

We've partnered with Intel and The Game Agency to create the Star Trek Online Architect, a web-based ship building game hosted on the Star Trek Online website. Head over to the Architect section of the site, create and assemble your own ship, and enter a sweepstakes to win a replica TOS captain's chair, Intel processors and copies of Star Trek Online!

We've worked with our friends across the North American retail sector to lower Star Trek Online's price. Starting right now, everyone can purchase the Star Trek Online client for $19.99. We've also got some great promotions set up with your favorite retailers, like Steam, GameStop, D2D and Stardock. It's a terrific chance to introduce your friends to the game!

This is just a bit of what's been happening in Star Trek Online over the past month. Be sure to stay tuned to the Star Trek Online website for more updates. And, as always, thank you for your continued support.

We'll see you in the Alpha Quadrant!

-The Star Trek Online Team
Enjoy your Ren Center podium, Champions.

If only every few months we could get content, perhaps "packs" of content. That would be a very adventurous concept indeed.

Groovy, but that game is lame so now there are a few more levels of lameness.

'Sides, its a different team...and I can't be bothered to care about what STO is doing.

Were you trying to get a rise out of the forums? Is that your deal?

Im not sure I should be upset. I mean, Im not interested at all in Startrek.

We just got Serpent Lantern, Vibora Bay and some other stuff, and a huge melee patch that made melee fun.

AOC was out for about a year and a bit...maybe longer and it only got some updates, some fixes, some class revamps and then finaly a content expansion.

Id say things are going pretty normal

I dunno. Vibora Bay was nice, but implementing it was a fiasco.

Weekly adventure packs would be nice too.

Not to mention, we've been asking for an out of client character costume creator since before launch -- and STO gets a web interface one for their ships.

My initial impression to the awesome official announcements (Of which we don't really get either) is that we are still getting the somewhat short end of the stick.

With DCUO coming out, I would like to get some focus for this game -- but if you guys are satisfied then so be it.

Obviously, I'll continue to play this game. And no offense meant to Tumerboy regarding the MC update. I am really happy with that.

I would like it if Cryptic treated CO with a bit more honesty and grace, but other than that I can't fault them for trying to make off of their successful game. Well, I guess I do fault them for allowing themselves to make a second game instead of pinning their coporate future on CO, since if they had done the latter, as is the norm in this industry, they could not have abandoned this game so easily.

Glad to hear STO fans are getting some love.

I don't really see this as a "them vs. us" scenario though. We already have been given a 6 week schedule alternating between new Adventure Packs and Quality of Life Updates. I wasn't terribly satisfied with Serpent Lantern, but I'm pretty confident Cryptic will take the feedback into consideration before the next release.

The release of DCUO may also give an incentive to increase updates, who knows?

I can kind of understand why this might upset people, but really, it has nothing to do with Champions Online. STO and CO are two completely different teams and they do not share resources. Devs are not being taken away for CO to work another game's content.

Both games have dedicated teams.

Recently, we got SL, which had quite a lot of content in it as well as some changes.
The next content update for CO is being worked on and you have had a peek of some of the things to come. But that peek is only the tip of the ice burg.
