Prior to today's patch, I specc'ed out of Life Drain due to it's substandard performance. Since we didn't get a free RetCon with today's power changes, I have not had a chance to test the so-called 'improvements' to Life Drain.

Does anyone know if it's worth getting over Celestial Conduit or are the returns not justified in both damage and/or healing?

Any input would be appreciated.

It's not really an improvement so much as a reversion to the previous form, the one before the mysterious unmentioned SL nerf to it. They might have raised the End cost from what it was previously, I can't really be sure there, but beyond that it heals about as it did before.

I believe that they improved the damage over it's pre nerf form, but also increased the cost.

Yeah, it's slightly higher damage, considerably higher energy cost, about the same healing.

Eh, that's dissappointing. I think I'll stick with Conduit as it's more useful in general.
