Hey all I just wanted to post an idea I have for a Munitions/Martial Arts character. The overall idea of the character is to have great survivability, do decent damage, and look good doing it. Sure some of the ideas in this build certainly aren't the most "effective" but you will be effective/flashy!

Build by championBuilder 0.4.1

Download this Build here.

: Level 40 Champion

Superstats:
Level 5: Super Dexterity
Level 13: Super Ego

Powers:
Level 1: Righteous Fists
Level 1: Lightning Reflexes -- Rank 3, Rank 2
Level 5: Focus Of The Unfettered Warrior -- Eye's Storm Prana
Level 5: Teleport
Level 8: Bullet Ballet -- Not Without Incident, Accelerated Metabolism, Rank 2
Level 11: Killer Instinct
Level 14: Two-Gun Mojo -- Close The Gap, Crippling Challenge
Level 17: Bountiful Chi Resurgence -- Resurgent Reiki, Rank 2
Level 20: Lock And Load -- Two Smoking Barrels, Rank 2
Level 23: Energy Shield -- Laser Knight
Level 26: Lead Tempest -- Rank 2, Tread Softly
Level 29: Masterful Dodge
Level 32: Evasive Maneuvers
Level 35: Bionic Shielding -- Rank 3, Rank 2
Level 35: Acrobatics -- Rank 2
Level 38: Thunderbolt Lunge -- Essence Assault

Talents:
Level 1: Quick Trigger
Level 6: Shooter
Level 9: Acrobat
Level 12: Ascetic
Level 15: Agile
Level 18: Enduring
Level 21: Indomitable

Would like to hear some thoughts on this. The main idea is for bullet ballet to be your go to ability. It deals great single target damage while being AoE capable. The two-gun mojo gives you your enrage while putting on some damage and give you a bit of range if you need. Lead Tempest is to soften rooms up before they get into range for bullet ballet. Bullet Ballet will be your go-to ability in PvP, so since it is a rooting melee attack we want really good survivability.

Looks like someone might have been reading the Bullet Ballet Thread :)

I would recommend swapping Unleashed Tempest for Unfettered Master, and picking up Storm's Eye Prana, if possible.

Unfettered Strikes on MD is quite poor, I recommend skipping it.

This is a pretty solid build, defensively and offensively.

I'd love to roll a toon focused on handguns.
Do you really think such a build is viable ? I mean both in PVP and PVE ?
And would it be possible to take gunslinger instead of righteous fists ?

Yes, but you would have to take Two-Gun Mojo at Level 1 instead of LR.

Forget the build - post the costume, lol.

I have been using the build lately in mostly a PvP environment. I changed the Focus Tempest to Unfettered Master, it is working well. Granted there are obviously much more effective builds for PvP but if you're looking for something thematic, fun, and still decent this build is a blast. Out of 10 games of UTC I lost 2 of the games (they were close). Of all the games that I won, I came out with really good k:d ratios. A few games I pulled over 10 kills with 0 deaths, with my best being 13:0.

Just be patient in setting up the bullet ballets, don't force them. Choose a target who looks like they are going to stay stationary then pick them apart.

Overall, I find this build very enjoyable. I cannot wait to get Lead Tempest so I can start killing in true style while keeping my dodge and avoidance super high with the advantages! I hope everyone enjoys this build and don't be afraid to tell me what ya think!

Took a slightly reworked version of this build up to 15 today (basically did Righteous Fists, 2Gun Mojo, Bullet Ballet and then started on the defense stuff), didn't want to just have the energy builder for three levels) and I can't believe how insane Bullet Ballet is. Seems to crit a ton, I love using the first couple animations to finish off one guy, and then at the end of the combo where the character fires both pistols, I swing my aim at another henchman and crit him to death in one hit. Pretty fun so far!

Bruteman76, I am glad you are enjoying the build! I myself have been enjoying it a lot as well. I find it really unique and fun. There is just something about a cookie-cutter build coming up to your face and receiving a bullet ballet and backing up thinking "What the heck just did all that damage?!"

I have been seeing bullet ballets doing close to 2,000 damage in some cases, at level 17. It really can deal quite a bit of damage especially if you get criticals during the combo. So fun!

Please feel free to switch the build up for individual themes or choices! I have already made a few revisions to the build myself, the most recent was changing retaliation out for Energy (Laser Knight)! This will give the build tons more survivability while you are bullet balleting around the map and lead tempesting rooms down!

Enjoy!!!

I gonna try it, Hopeslast, for I really prefer handguns to rifles or SMG.

Nevertheless, something still bothers me : your choice of righteous fists. I suppose you choose it because of its higher energy generation ? Honestly, I don't like the animation, seems an epileptic chicken.

Do you think keep using gunslinger would cause lacks of energie during fightings ?

I chose the righteous fists at the beginning to get lightning reflexes off the bat, but no if you changed it around a bit to your liking I don't think you would be lacking energy.

Great ! Thanks a lot for your quick answer !

EDIT : I roll and test. Honestly, I do not like. Talking about PVP, of course.

What I appreciate in a munitions build is that I can fire while moving. Much more, it is one of the majors ways to avoid focus, and death.
Bullet ballet and lead tempest are selfe-rooting powers, a very bad thing for PVP, most of all for a "glass canon". Of course, you can assist a buddy to kill a target. But in one on one... Forget.
