Look, I know this question does not have anything to do with Champions. But this is a problem I'm trying to figure out... You see, I have a great talent in making plots and or stories. I want to put my talents into making plots for mmorpgs. However, I do not know the name of the guy who designs the plot or the team who does it. So, I'm asking for help... :( Maybe you guys know who does it... or even a devs in put will help.
P.s: I also would love to know what college credits would fit the bill for this type of creator? I do one day... wish to make an epic mmo rpg to put the mmo community on its head.

May be different elsewhere, but here it's mostly content designers that tend to influence stories & plot.
As for college courses, I think mostly writing, story, etc. classes would be the most useful.

Back when Warhammer Online was still in closed beta there was a series of interviews to introduce the developers. One of the questions that was asked was how they broke into the MMORPG business. It was quite interesting to see the different routes people took to get where they are today. I don't recall exactly what they said, but several mentioned 1) playing a lot of different games, to see what does and doesn't work, and 2) designing your own game/storyline, even if it's just on paper. I wonder if those interviews are archived somewhere. It'd be interesting to see them again.
Maybe if you search hard enough you can find them. It'd give you a few good ideas, anyway.

People are probably getting tired of me saying this. WoW has a man named Chris Metzen as their lore master. He's been with the IP since it's inception. DCUO i heard is getting Jim Lee, so there's that. CO I guess get's it's story from a contengent of computer programmers going through old Champions source books? We had John Layman. Had.
My ideal loresman would be Robert Kirkman. He's a bit busy with.....quite a few things at the moment. Not only is he rapping up his book The Astonding Wolf Man....he is also staging a major event in his main book Invincible......writing for a summer limited series.....working for his "Walking Dead" tv show on AMC.....I'd love to do it though. Too bad I don't have any qualifications......well besides what I put into the suggestion box free of charge......

About WOW, Metzen is only the actual leaddesigner nothing less and nothing more. He is not the plotmaker, he ist only the guy, wo aproves it. I think in WOW's case there are a bunch of writers and designers. The creators from the ******** Universe are long gone from Blizzard. So, no, Metzten isn't one of them. As I know, he isn't even the primal leaddesigner for WOW, he came onboard shortly after the Battlefield implementation.
I know in STO Cryptic worked with Paramaout, Rodenberry jr. and they also have a dedicated autor.
How this is solved in here, I do not really know. There have to be some authors, who worked for some superhero labels, or have any bacground of this theme. CO feels pretty much like DC or Marvel, or all the other comic publisher.

If you search around on the epic games forum a guy got hired because rather than just delivering his portfolio via email, he made a darth vadr costume and built his portfolio into a statue, drove to epic's HQ and delivered his portfolio personally to the CEO.
This is great info :D Thank you! It should help me, when the time comes :D
