The Official Thread of Star Destroyer Recruitment!


That's a name some of you gents might remember from way back when, a time where open beta was a pipe dream and the closed beta reigned supreme. It seems like so many centuries ago, when actually it was barely a year, when Star Destroyer first hit the scene and came on strong. But times change and stuff happens, Star Destroyer fades away into obscurity after the big member boom collapsed. To some, it was the end of an era... To others, it was a life changing experience, but to us here at the most righteous of righteous super powered teams to hit the scene it's Tuesday!

Star Destroyer is still here, and we're comin' back with a fist full of vengeance sending its way across obscurity's jaw and landin' back down with a brand new recruitment drive! It's the hope of the team to add to our member base, bumpin' that number up from 8 to 30 and seein' where it goes. But in all the hubub most of you who haven't seen us around often enough probably don't even know who we are, huh? Well that's what I'm here for, fellow fighters of fastidious feats!

Star Destroyer started as a group of mere friends, four in total, playing online with each other with a casual interest. By sheer coincidence, the name came to us when doing a team super move in a fighting game, and doesn't have a thing to do with a certain science fiction phenomenon many of you might be thinking.

What's our purpose? Why it's not a whole lot different than what many of you are seeking, we're here to gather our fellow gamers, our creatively inspired kin, our like-minded gents and ladies for a great time. In game we take great strides to look awesome together, charge through those devious 5-Man missions, and make the experience of being a super hero the killer app it was always meant to be!

We're not just limited to Champions either, Star Destroyer can be found all about, in games such as Team Fortress 2 or Left 4 Dead; or a willingness to branch out and try just about any digital experience you can find. But more than that, we're a group of friends, we're pals, we hang out and sometimes do nothin' but keep up lively chatter.

But we're also demanding, too! Star Destroyer looks for the kinda people who make a character; an idea, a design, something that represents your concept and work. It may seem picky to some, but we're not hunting around just for the strongest and most winnest of dudes out there.

That's not to say we're an RP exclusive group, we aren't! RP is encouraged by members who are interested in it, but not at all required. We're a diverse group as much as anything else, and won't shun you just because you don' like what we like.

Some of you might remember that we were divided into five 'divisions' that mimicked the five points of a star. Experience has taught us that five divisions is a bit too many, and with the new streamlined Star Destroyer design, we're bringin' that number down to 3!

In the past, the Divisions were used to divide the roles, but they weren't very clear about it what those roles were. We're doing away with that, and instead will be determining division position based on the time we take with you guys. As for their names, they go like this...

Roster -

The Alpha Lions: Strong and fierce, rugged fighters and front line types.
Captain: English Terrier
Co-Captain: Zorra Voladora
Members:
Midas Might






The Delta Wolves: Guns n' attitudes, high tech weapons and military power is the name of the game.
Captain: Dynamo Livewire
Co-Captain: Code Name Rhino
Members:







The Theta Dragons: From science to sorcery, heavy on the range and supports the team.
Captain: Proto Ten
Co-Captain: Dark Eagleon
Members:
Col. Arthur Coleridge





There you got your little snippets of our Divisions, but there's plenty more to get into when you come down our way and fight that good fight with the best of the good fighters.

Moving on though...

If you dudes and dudettes are lookin' for a small team of friends, a place of such great and awe inspiring awesome that the sky itself explodes on a daily basis, then you're already on your way to Star Destroyer! Joining is as easy as taking a step forward, 'cause that's just what ya gotta do!

Character Description: (A brief idea of your character, who they are, what they are, maybe a little background. Be concise though, we're not askin' for a big story, we just wanna get a feel for who they are)

Why do you want your character in SD? (We wanna know why you want your character to join our group, why you want them to be part of the baddest group of heroes you never knew you wanted to be a part of until this very moment!)

Why do you wanna join? (This? We wanna know why you wanna be part of us, what it is you want from us, ya know? We wanna get as much a feel for the player as we do the character they're playing)

Just post that up when you're ready to be seen, when you wanna join. Keep in mind, you don't have to wanna join just to post here, you can ask questions or get a feel for us too before you make a sheet. Once you put up your sheet, we'll work out a time that's good for you to meet us in game. We'll hang out, do some missions, get to know you a bit. It's all a part of the recruitment process, we wanna know that you really wanna be part of this, and if things will fit. Otherwise, it'll just become a drag down the line, ya know?

So come on down, we're lookin' for more members, at the moment we have 8 members, including our Division Captains and their Co-Captains. Our current limit will be 30, giving us an equal number of members for each Division.

The old...erm new post is (back) up. These guys and gals have been around for eons.... that's years for you people from earth.

An awesome group to roll with, a varied and light hearted charisma, and dastardly good looks (provided by yours truly). What more could someone ask for?

Character name: Hayrael@Elrong

Character Description: "A brief idea", no problem I'm alway's brief. Hayrael is a 7 feet tall ex-mercenary from Germany. He is the silent type and his answer to nearly every problem is punching it in the face.(He is a might character mixed with a few powers from martial arts and supernatural, to explain why he has supernatural powers would take to long.)

Why do you want your character in SD?: Well up to this point Hayrael was more the lone wolf type but he realized that he will need help for a few things, so he decided to join a super group and you sound like a capable group.

Why do you wanna join?: For one you don't seem to have ******** like forcing people to wear uniforms and also "at the moment we have 8 members, including our Division Captains and their Co-Captains. Our current limit will be 30" this right there is important for me because I'm not really a fan of big supergroups.

Alright, sorry if this comes a little late. I sent ya a PM and am glad to see some response to this so quickly. But, think I should point out we do have a uniform. It's not a requirement, it's just a little fun thing we here at Star Destroyer did for ourselves to advertise.

And hey, ol' Proto looks damn slick in it. Keep an eye out for one of us Captains our the other members, I sent ya a friend request too. Now that my semester is over and I don't have classes for a few weeks I should be pretty available.

No, it's not. It's delicious with MILK. I thought we've already discussed this!

But yeah Elrong, we do have a team suit, and how it applies is exactly what Proto Dope forgot to include in the first post. While it's no "omfg wear this 24/7" suit, on some occasions we rock it to advertise the gang. Obviously, we don't take ourselves too seriously, so not having it on all the time isn't some unforgivable infraction.

As for the size of Star Destroyer, our numbers may be small, but they are for a reason. A lot of SGs are run like a bureaucracy, with no sense of community, and people get lost in the shuffle. No one is a headcount in this group, and in that spirit, we have a "no alts allowed" policy. You sign on to be with the team, then you're going to be a part of a team, not a brand. That's the SD Guarantee™.

So to you, or anyone else who may be lurking, that's how we roll, and if it's up your alley, you're more than welcome to hang out in this thread and see what we're about.

Plus Hassu will provide free waffles.

Waffles shmaffles, Dynamo, I'm only here for the medical benefits. Also here to point out my relief at the end of this semester, so active I will certainly be more of. So you potentials out there shouldn't hessitate to come out and say a few choice words, eh?

But do come on in people, do not be afraid to talk it up. And we're very welcoming to those EU players (we have a few), I for one am quite active so all you Europeans out there won't ever feel lonely!

Aaah lord, what did you people do?! I can't keep everything running with college on my tail! Hup hup hup! Start recruiting and getting people interested! On the double Star Destroyer slackers, Proto Ten can't be the only hero on board!
