# 1 So, when does Might stop being repetitive and boring?

All I seem to do on my might toon is mighty leap -> clobber to full endurance -> haymaker spam

That's got me covered 90% of the time. At first it was quite satisfying but now it's just boring. Sure, I have a couple other attacks. I use Uppercut w/ the advantage on villains to keep them from using charged attacks (which doesn't seem to work most of the time anyway), and Roomsweeper which is actually fun and useful w/ the advantage for giving me a bit of breathing room, but both of these things are situational.

Most of the time all I'm doing is haymaker, haymaker, haymaker, *waits 3 seconds for clobber to build back end*, haymaker, haymaker, haymaker, *falls asleep*

Granted, I don't have Havoc Stomp, Demolish, or Shockwave yet, but for single target purposes it seems everything else pales in comparison to Haymaker. I'm not saying Might is a bad set, but so far it just seems all you really need is Haymaker and your good to go.

I guess Might isn't the only set like that though. My tech guy is kind of at a standstill as well because all I really need to use on him is Gauntlet Chainsaw. I do a preemptive Sonic Device + Sonic Blaster as I run in then just spam chainsaw till everything's dead. Effective, but again, boring and repetitive (though not quite as much as Might).

Sure you could argue that things are repetitive in any MMO (especially in regards to leveling), but I've played several other MMOs over the past 7 years and never had leveling reduced to a "1 button spamfest".

Add an AOE, like Roomsweeper or Havoc Stomp

As I said, I have Roomsweeper. It's nice, but I don't use it that much. Only in situations when I need a breather. Using it willy-nilly is annoying what with the amount of KB it causes.

I agree. I recently got my might char to 40, and was in the same boat as you. I ranked haymaker up to 3, then would use clobber to build up energy then either spam or charge up haymaker to actually defeat them. I would occasionally use handclap or footstomp for some AoE, but haymaker was my bread-and-butter. I think part of it has to do w/ the fact that many of the might melee attacks have either gimmicks or are to situational, whereas high damage is always useful. It did get to the point where I started taking other powers just to see if they'd be interesting at all, and they were more of a distraction than effective...

I have a level 40 Might Toon.

For mobs, I use Leap-Thunderclap (To stun the trash)-and then Uppercut away FTW.

For when I get ganked but more than I think I can handle, Havoc Stomp or Roomsweeper to give me time.

That's about it. I generally don't use Haymaker all that much.

And I seldom use Enrage, but I do on occasion for the FX (love looking big),

All kidding aside, why would you actively choose to use a power that does straight up less damage than another, at least in a situation where all that matters is killing the mob (which is most situations)? Yeah, Uppercut does knockup, but you have to charge it up to notice any knockup and in that time I could have rapid-fired a few Haymakers doing much more serious damage and being closer to the end goal (defeating the mob) than I would charging up one Uppercut.

Not trying to sound condescending. Just genuinely curious why you would opt for Uppercut over Haymaker for damage.

I don't see how this is the game's fault. You're making the conscious decision to only use a few specific abilities, you should expect to get bored. Why can't you explore other abilities or other power sets? Why can't you get imaginative and think up some crazy new combo? Here's one; Uppercut + Chest Beam and see how far off the ground you can send your enemies. That sounds like fun to me!

Only because it's been the most efficient option so far.

Eh...concept is an important factor for me. I don't like taking powers outside of my concept, and since my might toon is pretty much pure 100% fists-in-your-face might...I might be shooting myself in the foot here :p

Btw, any opinions on Thunderclap? I've heard mixed things about it but was looking to replace Uppercut with something. I haven't really liked Uppercut so far, though as I said all I really use it for is to put the head trauma debuff on villains so they can't use charged attacks, but that doesn't seem to work on a consistent basis.

Maybe I'd like it more if I actually charged it up instead of just tapping it. Maybe that's why head trauma doesn't seem to work all the time also....

As far as thunderclap goes, it's useful, but not an end-all-be-all power. It's great for buying you a few moments when surrounded by lots of henchmen, it does ok damage, its recharge isn't bad at 5.9s, and w/ challenging strikes, (or w/e that taunt advantage is called), it can make a nice opener to get the enemies' attention. Out of all the might powers you can pick from, it certainly isn't a bad choice once you get the basics out of the way...

So far my main is a pure-breed might character. As I read your description I thought "damn, that's my main combo." All I can say to you is stop leaning on the power. Haymaker may be the most efficient move, but if you are looking for something more interesting and fun, then work of mixing up your combos for aesthetics.

I advise picking up Defensive Combo. Its a sweet looking animation that mixes beautifully with the other moves. You won't be fighting as efficiently, but it should help break up the wash, rinse, repeat cycle we suffer from.
