Mythic (lolMythic) of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning fame managed to massively screw up their billing department somehow, and current and even former WAR players are being charged for years worth of subs. Some up to a thousand dollars or more. It's still going on, and just because you unsubbed doesn't make you safe.
And yes, this will incur bank overcharges if you were unlucky enough to get hit, though Mythic has said they will 'talk to them for you' if they won't reverse the overcharge when you explain it to them. And of course it will take awhile (read: week or more) to get the amounts settled so you can have your money back. Hope you didn't want to eat this week!
-----------------------------------------------------------
Note: I realize this isn't exactly CO discussion, but it being an MMO there are probably more than a few here that played WAR for a bit, it's kind of a BIG DEAL if you got hit, and I'd ask this stay up to help people out, as Mythic is apparently taking no steps to contact those hit, not even sending emails.

Former WAR player here - thank you for the heads up; I haven't seen anything on my statement yet but I'll keep an eye on it now that you've said something ><

Just another reason i will not be buying another Mythic product.
They took a great IP and ruined it, but this is just too much.
Thanks for the heads up, ill be making sure my banks alright.

But with this issue, Cryptic also had problems in the billing department.

I hate when people discard a game company because of one failed title.
Mythic is aces in my book, they made Dark Age of Camelot, hands down the best MMO ever made. Its not like other companies don't make mistakes like this, Home Depot once charged me 4 times for a Washer and Dryer I ordered online. The University of Kansas once charged me $5000 for a class that was actually supposed to be 500$. AT&T Charged me monthly fees for a year AFTER I canceled their cell phone service. Point being it happens and as long as they rectify it then it should not negatively affect their reputation as a gaming company.
Now if it is continuous like what At&T did to me well that is something to get violent about, but this...not a big deal and from what I read on Mythics forums, not widespread.
In before the lock.
