Looking for everyone's thoughts on Knockback, good or ill.
As a start-off, my own thoughts: If it wasn't the case that practically every enemy has ranged attacks, Knockback and Knock around moves would be far cooler and more able to be used than they are now. As it is, it makes more work for yourself.

Fact.
Don't forget, also, if you have a melee end builder, it makes your pause for 2-3 seconds while you roar at a mob who already hates you anyway.

Knockback is useful in PvP, because it keeps the target from doing anything while they're being knocked around and does a fair bit of damage on targets that aren't using a movement power that protects them from falling (most will, but travel powers can be removed, and teleport is an important travel power that doesn't). In PvE, however, the disabling is far less useful (because any target actually vulnerable to knockback doesn't do much damage in the first place), and the tendency to knock your target into additional groups (who you will aggro if you chase your original target) is distinctly unhelpful.

I have a lot of problems with melee (in pve) especially as my might character, I really think most/all the moves need to be like haymaker in that just tapping it there is no knockback and that the knockback is proportionate to the charge-up (ie. charging the haymaker one-third will knock a strong enemy only a few steps ahead) the one's that have a % chance of applying half-again the knockback are so annoying to me, and one's like roomsweeper (melee cone) where even the tap is guarenteed knockback is not very useful (though I certainly see the appeal of that particular move for a ranged character)
I wouldn't mind having some kind of mode for pve that you just activate, either as in a power that comes if you learn even a single melee move, or even a slash command, that makes all knockback moves simply knock your opponant down and you have no chasing after- that would fix everything for me.

You should fraps him, might users in general are not happy, and I've never seen one do better than an average ranged user. New patch might change things, we will see...

It all depends on the situation really. Depending on the flow of the skirmish, I may or may not chase after 'em. If I do, it's usually with a lunge or I just throw a rock at 'em. :) Heh. Truth be told, I don't worry about those guys too much unless I've decided that they are a threat.
What Innovator said is mostly true, though only half the story. There's a lot going on in my head that even I don't notice anymore cause it's kinda rote to me at this point. So it'll be hard to pick up when watching over my shoulder. My overall strategy probably might not work for everyone; I just know it works for me. I could write a guide on what I do if it'll help people. Let me know, and I'll gladly write blocks of text. :)
Also, if you want to see what he sees in person, feel free to send a /tell and I'd be glad to show you what I do. Two things I can think of off the top of my head is that I treat Knockback as my "I don't want to deal with you right now" power. Also, I don't consider myself a damage dealer, more crowd control, but to the observer, it appears like I'm doing a ton of damage, when in actuality; my targets are always switching.
Oh, I use the envornment a lot. Something to consider is that the PvE mobs aren't people and have a much more predictable behavior compared to a real person. So when I grab a mob from another room. I'm usually also cutting corners around doors and obstructons to lower the overall dps of other mobs. That's three. I better stop before I actually do write a guide :P
Well see about fraping me when time permits. I gotta head out of town this weekend but If we can do it before then. He'll post it up.

Knockback is awesome. It's a superhero game. The powers that knock back are clearly labeled, and you can try them in the Powerhouse before you buy them. Why on Earth you would play a Might hero and not want knockback is beyond me, and even if you do, you can use mostly uppercut or something.
Pretty much got no sympathy for KB haters. Use other sets.

In implementation, knockbacks are broken. The resistances are still jacked up, in my opinion. The developers seem pretty vigilant in ignoring the problems with resistances in general.
