Mill, you're making the same mistake as the OP here. You asked, quite plainly in your thread title, "What do you think?"

You did NOT say, "Tell me I'm right about everything!" (And incidentally, he does have a point - that character does look more like the Scarlet Pimpernel than V. Blame the fact the V based his look more or less on the Scarlet Pimpernel legend, only in black and with a Guy Fawkes mask.)

Look, if all you people want is to be told what wonderful little creative-genius special snowflakes you are, then for 343's sake, SAY SO! Then I won't waste my time trying to make a thoughtful critique of something, when all you wanted was to hear sweet nothings. I'm not here to hold your hand and make everything all right - I have my own children to tend to, thanks.

Also hard to complain that somebody is 'taking out his frustration' on you when his initial post ended by complimenting the character you were showing.

I get that his criticism in this thread may have been a bit harsh, and I really can't think of a more ridiculous discussion/battle line than "how much armor do you have to be wearing to be considered a Power Armor character", but still: he's offering his feedback, which is what both thread starters asked for, and in one case the feedback was actually positive!

Thicker skin would help everyone, maybe? If YOU like the way your toon looks, then it is a great-looking toon! Seriously; yours is ultimately the only opinion that matters. Everybody has differing tastes, but if you think it rocks, then it rocks. Who cares if somebody says they don't like it or it's generic or it's random or it looks like another character or it's using the wrong power set or you're calling it by the wrong name or the arms are too short or the head is too big or the colors are too dark or you really shouldn't have used ALL the glow... they're not the ones who have to/get to use it in game.

Okay, sorry, /rant, and all that. Just want to see people enjoying the game without worrying so much what other people think. Supposed to provide fun, not melodrama.

aejones4 got it right, I was complimenting you, but now that it is obvious that you can't tell the difference between a compliment and a criticism, I am seriously thinking of retracting my initial compliment.

I hate to butt in on this but I just feel like pointing something out.
Doesn't the term "personal opinion" have any relevance here?
Could just be me, but I've seen no personal attacks on anyone's integrity by MadDemon here or in Mill's thread, he/she just forwarded his/her personal opinion on the matter, just because you don't agree with them doesn't mean he/she is in any way wrong.

I do feel however that the resulting "throwdown" could have been handled a bit more maturely by most of you. No one needs to stop playing the game for being "too defensive" for example, and claiming so is definitely a bit on the needlessly harsch side.

Rather then continuing to argue about it, wouldn't it be better to just agree to disagree and then return to making more awesome costume designs?
