I haven't found a thread about this...
Though I know some people will of course already know this.


We want to customize our Nemeses. Often, a nemesis will wield some sort of weapon and, more often than not, the default weapon just wont do.
The nemesis creator though does not have a tab to customize weapons.

So we need a workaround until Cryptic fixes this.

Here it is:
  • Instead of logging into the game, click on create new champion and select the powerset you wish your nemesis to have.
  • Create the costume including the weapons.
  • Save the costume when you are done. (it is best to give the character a name to make the file easy to find)
  • Log into the game with the character that is to have the nemesis.
  • Create your nemesis and when you have to select gender, load the costume file you created.
  • Click next till you get to enter name and backstory - do so.
  • Create the nemesis.
The nemesis should now use the weapon you chose.

It is best to not make any other changes to the costume, just to be on the safe side so the nemesis creator doesn't reset any options to default.

I have tried this both on Live and PTS.

I have tried this on an exisitng nemesis on live, using the "edit" feature at the nemesis terminal. Loading the file with the different weapon caused the terminal to charge me around 29 national resources (silver).

I'll add a screenshot from pts with the Testnemesis using ugly garishly coloured axes.

I just made a pirate theme nemesis yesterday - if this works he can have a pirate sword!

Great idea, if this works your going to get a big sloppy kiss :D

Would be great if Cryptic let us modify the minions to. This would also solve problems of people killing your mission kills by accident. Well unless they wanted to of course :p

Great idea! (i actually started doing this months ago, i didn't know it was a trick, i was just lazy)

But for the love of all that's holy don't do what i did and forgt to name your nemesis!
If you do it ends up with the name of whatever you named your costume

"I'll get you for this ELEMENTAL! 'Elemental_0Nemesis-MAIN-Fire' won't be stopped!"

We need the ability to "rename" our nemesis... :D

You make me feel better now about Little Helper's nemesis Doll Soldier (a doll that was rejected from the Toy Soldier army on grounds of being a girly toy) with the typo in her name Doll Sodlier :)

I'll pay cryptic points for a nemesis rename token Poz!! You hear me?

I agree on this one, removing/forgetting the fact to customize weapon is a huge flaw when you design for hours a costume and you end up a weapon which is totally anachronical or out of place (and color !!) from the whole concept of your nemesis

FIX THIS, CRYPTIC !!

I would really have some dev comment here
