I just wanted to make a post here about this in hopes that this could be seen and resolved.
People can add to hold strength through stats (presence), through gear (+hold strength) and through specialization trees (Dominion in the Presence specialization tree) However, the HP of holds do not seem to be increasing.
The HP of the hold determines the amount of z smashing that needs to be done to break-free from the hold before the duration of the hold has been reached.
It would be very much appreciated if this could be resolved. Thank you for your Time and Consideration.

Yup, got the same issue with my controller, we need more health for our holds, we specialised for it and still it breaks way to fast. Sometimes I can not even fully charge a disable on a uncrowded target because the resistance breaks before the refresh applies.
Also reduce the effects of CC resist and hold resistance (by generating a soft cap), I made a couple of tests against a player with around 400 EGO and my stuning abilties lasted 2sec instead of the 14sec mentioned on the tooltips.
So give Controllers stronger holds, not longer, and fix CC and Hold resist for PVP. And you'll give a rightfull place for controllers in this game. :)

I mean look how people's loud voices protesting against little to no opposition got Cryptic to totally gut the holds system to begin with. People just need to be more vocal about control powers, not to make us overpowered, but to make us balanced and to at least make our powers work like they are supposed to work. Right now, many of my specializations, gears, and stats are going to waste because the crowd control system is not working correctly.
I really feel like if the devs knew the scope of what is going on, they would get on this immediately. The same thing with some specialization tree options still not working.
Instead of just allowing Gold members on PTS, it would be great if people were able to sign up for specific groups to test powers, effects, etc. For instance, When you sign up for PTS, you would have to specify which powerset you would like to test, or maybe you would have to specifiy your playing style. For example healer, tank. randged, melee, controller etc.(these could also have sub styles so if you are a healer primary and controller secondary or vice versa, you would be able to say that) Only a certain number of each playing style should be allowed on PTS. This way, all groups will be able to express their thoughts and report bugs and errors that are going on. Also, if cryptic sees a certain few people making a lot of fuss, they can put it into perspective by their play style, and the numbers of that particular play style on PTS.

The people that were vocal were already ignored, as that was mostly the pvp community. The pve focused folks wouldn't see much difference with the new changes.

Just saying while they are working to fix this, Mind needs Manipulator Form once holds HP's are fixed. a couple of level 39's broke out of my Ego Sleep which is difficult for someone else to breakout of who is level 40. It took them 40 seconds without CC gear and 40 seconds with CC gear...now something there...AINT RIGHT!
