I am concerned by how much people seem to want this game to hand things out on a plate. Whilst this may be symptomatic of modern games molly-coddling gamers ("Push Forward to move. Shoot enemies to kill them. Etc etc), it doesn't bode well, as the less of an overall challenge there is, the less rewarding an experience you have, which ultimately leads to high customer churn rates.

I'm sure if half the people here had their way, they'd be happy with one quest that lasts 2 minutes that they can AFK through half of, and at the end get every costume piece and travel power instantly unlocked... *smh*
Ofcourse content worth of doing would help doing it. Couple of AP's and handfull of repeated Alerts isn't really worth of doing for the 'Bestest Gear There Is' or the 'Oh So Awesome TravelPowers'....

"Worth" is such a subjective thing when it comes to things like travel power skins or costume pieces. Personally, I can't stand swinging or superspeed, so skins for those powers have almost no value to me. OTOH, someone way "need" vine swinging to realize a concept they hold dear, so it's very valuable to them.

Similarly, the amount of time invested that's required to earn some reward is also a subjective return on investment. Is it worth 25 days of refining the max amount of Questionite to get that travel power skin? Given that previous travel power skins cost about $4, it's a pretty poor time-to-cost ratio. But, some people have the time but not the money, so in their case it's the *only* option.

I absolutely agree with the OP. I'm a casual gamer, mostly I come on to make outfits and participate/host events. I don't hit the 8000 limit per character everyday because this game isn't the most important thing in my life. Not even even in the top 5. Maybe top 10.

Anyway, it's obvious that this Q system, along with the recognition and other systems, is for those players who play everyday for hours on end. If that's how Cryptic wants their game--fine. That's their prerogative. It's a slap in the face though for everyone else who just wants to play and have fun with new content, but can't because it's so out of reach.

you understand the concept of inflation?

since more people are farming Q than spending real money. the cost of Q goes up to compensate.

dont blame cryptic, blame the relentless Q farming

idk, r6 - r7 is what? a 30 pt diff across 6 slots? can't recall the exact diff on the utils, and some of those appear to cap... but if you start getting into the numbers, idk that I'd say 'not very,' is all :o

66 point difference between 5's and 9's mods.
12 point difference between drops and Q gear.

78 points total difference...
...Until the level cap raise i can live with that ;)
