I am a reworking my PVE Heavy Weapons/Defiance Tank, post alert, and would like to get some feedback from the resident experts. Below is my build that is based upon the mythological Thor. I SS'd Con with Strength and Int as secondaries. I was debating Dex as a secondary stat but went with Int for cooldown and cost reductions since HW is endurance heavy. I did work in some Dex through my talents to help crit Cleave and help Masterful Dodge/BCR.
For the spec trees I went with Constitution, Protector and Warden. I am still learning about the new gear changes and will likely muddle my way through that as well. What missions yield the best post-Alert gear? I have never really liked to craft gear as I would rather spend what little time play time I have fighting villians.
Thanks for any input!

Here's how I would do this. For a Thunder God, you seem lacking in thunder or lightning. Changing a few other powers makes it possible to take Thunderstrike, a nice ranged AoE electrical attack. This is on a short recharge, which will help fuel your MSA. You could also take Electric Sheath in place of Aggressor, as the latter may be changed to an Active Offense at some point and could be interchangeable. Electric Sheath is thematic and also offers the nice damage shield, handy for tanking.
I personally don't like my heal being on a long recharge, so I would change Resurgence out for Conviction. With a very short cooldown thanks to SS INT, this should heal for more than Resurgence over the medium term and also help build energy through MSA.
I would change Masterful Dodge for Unbreakable, as without enough base dodge avoidance, MD is IMO inferior to Unbreakable for regular content. This also seems more thematic to me. For boss or cosmic/legendary tanking (large spike damage) you would probably do better with MD, so it depends on your endgame goals.
You may find once the PSA changes come to Live that you want more or fewer ranks for Enrage and Aggressor, so for now I would leave those as is.
Your Spec Tree choices seem fine for a tank; would leave those be.

Thanks for the advice! I like the combination of Unbreakable and Conviction. Seems more in keeping with my theme. I really like Resurgence for my OS moments. I tested Thunderstrike and it fits my theme perfectly. I am definetly going to fit it into my build. I dropped Enrage for Electric Sheath which serves as my active offense/hold breaker, so I upped Resurgence to R3. I have no problem building enrage with cleave.

Looking good. I'm glad the suggestions fit your theme.
One thing regarding Unbreakable; it's one of the few powers that performs quite well unranked. The refresh mechanic of the power means that the rank one protection is very good. Your attacks are mostly slow and heavy, meaning you are unlikely to adversely affect the refresh amount much. The extra 1000 or so of protection of Rank 3 is going to be helpful mostly against heavy spike hits that are likely to take the shield down completely. If you are planning on taking taking many hits like that then Masterful Dodge is likely to suit you better. You can take those four advantage points and put them toward Imbue or Thunderstrike, where they will probably be more useful.

You may want to consider waiting just a bit to use a full Retcon on this character. There is a HUGE Kerfuffle going on on the PST. Many of the core powers, especially Enrage and Aggressor are being COMPLETELY reworked and are not in there final versions yet. I also note that you do not have Brimstone. This is basically THE signature Thunder God power. Seriously, especially with Aftershock. Look up some videos of it. It looks awesomely cool and is one of the best self targeted AOEs in the entire game. It also does Crushing, Fire, and Lightning damage all at the same time with a nice DOT component. Just my two Local Resources worth.

Brimstone also has an Area Knockdown component so it will currently build stacks of Aggressor and will eventually build stacks of Enraged.

To clarify, Brimstone with adv does crushing and fire damage only. It does not do lightning damage despite the effects.

You could also take Bionic Shielding instead Conviction as heal .. the advantage "Overloaded Circuits" also
does electric damage. However .. its maybe a little to much tech style.
