With the new FF slots available, I'm sure a number of people will be letting their subs expire upon receiving one or more slots. With that said, this bug is likely to affect a lot of people and I figured I'd bring it to the attention of the forums so fewer people are caught unaware.


As a gold and many grab bags later, I acquired an FF slot. As I'm familiar with the typical conversion process as I don't sub regularly, when my sub expired early this morning, I found myself having to retcon every spec tree on my ATs - not from retraining mind you, but from simply keeping said AT. Each one has come out of the conversion process missing the conversion overflow email (and items) and a bugged spec tree, requiring the 50g retcon on each (all 40, 9 total).

Now to clarify, when one converts from gold to silver as an AT, keeping the AT means nothing changes other than your character being moved to the MC PH, and you receiving an email including all the items you could no longer hold for every bag slot you had as a gold you don't as a silver.

As of right now, converting a gold AT to a silver AT keeping AT will require you to spend additional resources to fix your spec tree, and probably losing any items you had in bag slots beyond what you own as silver.

Normally, I'd just submit the ticket and wait to be told we can't help you, but as this is costing me 50g each and the last time I had a PH issue I waited 9 days to be told I was out of luck, I figured posting here will at least save others the potential losses whether or not I am compensated for a bug costing me resources I'm not responsible for. Now having to pay to retcon a toon because the system is bugged is one thing, but the item overflow email system not working can cause people to lose far more valuable items.

What does this mean?

I thought I had explained it in the op - basically during the conversion process, if the gold character is an AT and you keep the AT no powers are changed. But coming out of the conversion process at the moment, the spec tree is bugged, and to fix it you have to do the 50g retcon (remove all button) and redo your spec tree. 9 40s = 450g.

This is the part I don't understand, "the spec tree is bugged". In what way? Do you not have your specs and can't pick new ones until you retcon?

I figured that was understood by saying bugged. To be detailed, it shows 11 points free (when there should be none) and with 1st (primary stat) and 3rd tier tree greyed. In order for the spec tree to work properly, you need to pay for the 50g retcon to reinstate your picks in each tree.

Apparently the Staff is unaware that a silver conversion item overflow email existed, one staff member told me to check the until terminal. (Checking the mail is how I was aware I had not received the email).

Another gm told me that he/she was confused as the items would not be sent - completely unaware of the procedure as it had been (since its apparently been changed now).

Another patch, and plenty of folks deserving a retcon that weren't issued one.
