Anyone who wants to be at a competetive edge for PVP in this game has to build very specifically and restrictively for their toon. Anyone who builds casually and thematically for PVE without consideration for the PVP metagame to determine their choices will most likely suffer in performance in PVP. That's what I meant by saying that PVP for this game is elitist. It's not about an elitist attitude of PVP players themselves towards the casual ones.

As for elitist attitudes from players, saying that it isn't a problem is just as ignorant. It doesn't make it an acceptable "niche" either just because there are people out there who act like jerks with a bloated sense of self-importance.

I see I misunderstood you there then.

Well there's little to change on your part concerning the attitudes of others, other than ignoring them.

Knowing that Funcom is behind TSW and my experience with AO, i think the PVP will top that of GW2. GW is like all other games you have these skills, now punch buttons and prey you have better gear then the other guy, while TSW has also the liberty of building skillsets. Gw had too, and i asume GW2 will too, but never at the COMPLETE freedom as TSW promises.
GW i only played untill the North expasnions came out then i pretty much had it with it, while AO, i played for years, and still do once in awhile. So TSW it is ;) Sure as hell not CO anymore. Pretty much got my lifetime sub converted to equal playtime as if i wouldve bought monthly sub so ... if they dont care to make a decent PVP system, why should a PVPer care to contribute to the system.
Dont wanna log into a game and sit around for half an hour hoping for one PVP match, i wanna log in and start killing ... or get killed i dont give a crap, anything better then stand there and trash moronic PVE mobs by the billions and never loose an inch of the HPbar.

and good news for you, since there wont be any tiers, you dont have to worry about hanging out in tier 2 and re-rolling when you hit tier 3. I look forward to seeing you there. :D

And people keep on thinking im not going past 30 cus im scared or something, wichever. Just now watched like 4 duels, all 40 all freeform, and they all had exact same build give or take a few skills and noone of them had skills to fit a theme that would go with there name or costume, or both. And they were all duelling for like half an hour with totally no progress.
Thanks but no thanks, ill stick to my lowby noob tiers, have themes, and loads of fun, oh wait, used to have loads of fun, and duels that actually end with a kill.

I dont know about now because ive been spending all of my time farming, but tier 4 use to be a blast and I agree to an extent about the copy/paste builds... completely irritating, but I definitely still preferred fighting some of the more complex builds in tier 4 to that of the stupid crap that occurred in tier 2.
I'm sure you remember me, we had a couple of instances where we butted heads and we had a couple of instances where we got along quite well, so you know that i'm not just a horrible player. It's just entirely too easy to create an "I win" build in the lower tiers, I dare say even in tier 3.
On the opposite side of the coin, there was entirely too many builds that absolutely required you to build specifically to counter it, so I can understand the frustration in the higher tiers, especially when some of the higher tier people tended to rely on "exploitive" builds to prosper.

Either way though, I'm looking forward to seeing what TSW offers, im extremely interested in the war zones. 300 player persistent territory based pvp... sign me up. That and I can't wait to see what they do with the environment aspect of it. I watched a video where it was pretty much pitch black and the player equipped a head lamp and used road flares so that he could see and they said things like that would carry over into pvp, so the player had to decide if he wanted to run the risk of equipping the head lamp and being seen so that he could see or if he wanted to sneak through the shadows at the expense of his own sight.

The Illuminati currently hold South Africa. This must be corrected!
