UNITY used to have no point. Sure, there was gear you could get from it, but it was trounced by PvP gear and Serpent Lantern Elite blues.
Well, now that we get Silver Champions recognition from UNITY, it's become a LOT more popular, and I think it's high time we get some constructive criticism going in here or the UNITY missions, including UNITY 2.
UNITY missions in Lemuria:
Fall squarely in OH GOD WHY territory, solely because of one thing: THE CAVES The entrance to many Lemuria instanced missions are within caves, but the minimap marker display where the mission ACTUALLY is rather than the entrance to the cave leading to it. What a pain.
UNITY missions in MC:
Good, if a little repetitive.
UNITY missions in the Desert:
Good, if a little repetitive.
UNITY missions in Canada:
Good, if a little repetitive.
UNITY missions on Monster Island:
Repetitive, if a little good.
Finales: Usually, these are awesome. However, there's one particular stinker that stands out.
Manimal Farm.
It's never fun to struggle to target cage doors and advance after freeing the Manimals, but it's even worse when you have to backtrack and talk to the Manimals because they don't have the common sense to leave on their own in the first place. Also, it's just REALLY boring.
Cazulon's mission is awesome and creative.
The sunken Qularr ship mission is also pretty sweet. Very well done, with a callback to the tutorial too!
The two finales starring Lemurians are kinda on the tedious side and the objectives can be easy to miss.
The Elder Worms in the sewers mission is also kinda nice, but kinda drags on.
The Elder Worms in the museum has the most interesting mechanic of all of these: watch out for possessed civilians and don't kill them! The bonus objective of saving them all doesn't seem to do much, though.
Those are all of the UNITY finales I've gotten to do. All in all, a solid, if a tad bland package.
However... the same can't be said for UNITY 2.
UNITY 2 is just the most boring thing I've done in the game. I only stomach it because it's helping me power up my characters quicker and there's a lot of UNTIL recognition and nice random drops to be had.
Path of Fire's big issue is the War of Words mission where you have to pick up a bunch of books. Most are in plain sight, but one's tucked away in a corner at the beginning of the map. I'm always on the lookout for this one nowadays. Plus the first one's a tad tedious, but nowhere near as bad as the Path of Soul.
Path of Soul's big problem is the first one. So many Trey King groups to kill, it puts me to sleep...
Path of Chaos is alright, the only thing is it uses the damn sewer environment.
I have NEVER gotten to do Path of Earth. EVER.
As for the finales? Oh, joy, you get to repeat one of the missions you needed to complete to get into UNITY 2.
There and Bat Again would be fine if it weren't liable to break so much. If you leave in the middle of it, Foxbat becomes unresponsive. When you complete the mission you've got about a 90% chance of him becoming unresponsive. I was told I needed to relog. Didn't work on this one!
Of Serums and Secrets doesn't break, but it's kinda boring.
Assembling the Antidote is the same minigame as before, only some objects in the back now seem to be unable to be interacted with, namely the coffin nails and grave water.
GOD HELP YOU IF YOU GET BURN 'EM OUT. This is truly the most tedious mission of all. Interact with 50 objects with an item in a massive instance and save nine strewn-about NPCs. Not fun. Not fun at all.
The system needs work, simple as that. UNITY 2 needs some serious help.

Ive been doing these missions for a long time now, well UNITY 1. UNITY 2, I only bothered with to get the new purples from Silver Recognition. After I got what I needed, no more UNITY 2.

I hope my luck with There and Bat continues. I've been seeing a lot of people saying that mission is bugging on them but it hasn't hit me yet....and I know me...after going through UNITY 2 if that mission bugs on me I'm going to be furious.

So I have to ask - do drops change based on your difficulty level? Thanks in advance for a response.

Thanks, brother. Clearly I need to go play some UNITY missions to get equipped back up.
I appreciate the reply.

I've had more luck rushing through on Normal, I've gotten almost every Nephilim piece within the space of one Path of Fire run and a generous amount of purple secondaries to boot.
The only reason the drop rate would increase on Elite is because of scaled up enemy groups when you're in a team, and in team situations when I run it on elite I don't get anything.

Thanks to you too Keiko. For the guide as well. Good stuff to know. (I've been missing out and need stuff for my 40 to do.)
Someone remind me again where UNITY2 missions are obtained?

Unity 2 missions come from Akako Yamimori who willl send you to Whisper
http://www.champions-online-wiki.com...ITY_2_Missions
Whisper (quest giver) can be found here
http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Whisper
It doesn't show on the Wiki pic but there is a road running up the right side of the map and an entrance to the Cemetary not far from the shiny grave/crypt you need to find. (left from road and first left in cemetary)
I like the Unity 2 quests coz it's concentrated grinding and I don't have to whiz round the world finding caves and stuff.
Agree with OP on Unity missions and I love that you really want a good STA in Exhibit Hall Enmity
I certainly hope we see some more Unity/Unity 2 stuff and some debugging. Sob I have failed 3 for 3 on There and Bat again that's 100% man!
