Cryptic is NOT a AAA developer, and you don't share a table with studios like Epic games, Bungie, Arena.net or Blizzard.
Good luck on Neverwinter though.

So if I explain my process of creating a power sound, for example, the reader needs to know what kind of visual material I was working with because I base many of my production decisions on what I see.

Would be very interested in looking through this as well.
Any "behind the scenes" peek is like a bounty for me.
Please, if possible, ask Stormshade to make an announce when you release an article, a bit like what's done with the art / costume preview.
I think audio is as important (maybe even more as far as ambiance goes) as the graphics.
Your job sure could use a bit of spotlight. ^_^

I'd read it. It's always interesting to get a peek into a professional's work-day, especially if it's in areas you're not familiar with.

I'm very interested in this sort of stuff. What kind of software you guys use and how much sound and music you create from scratch vs pre-made audio samples, etc.

And where do you get all those neat guns to make the gun sounds in CO.
I wouldn't mind giving a try for the Gatling Pistol.

In all seriousness, there aren't many AAA developers anymore. Everyone is too busy trying to make money to make a good game or innovate, which was the exact same thing that led to the video game market crash in the 80s.

And AAA means extremely high Metacrtic ratings and Gamer good faith.
People buy games from those studios I listed without question or doubt.
Try saying the same for Cryptic studios.
