=How Wrestling Can Work=
“The Set mainly stands for heavy single target damage and combining multiple utilities of your choice into one combination in complete control”
-Got to Look like You’re Gripping? Not Completely-
Your hands could be gripping air but as long as it gives a quick look that you are gripping the target is all that needs to be done. Because there are enemies with lower stature such as floating round robots, the hands could be clasped around the mid section that corresponds with every enemy out there. Arm twists and such are too tricky to implement so I’m keeping that out as well as the awesome leg spinning move. Instead of the leg spinning move you could kind of grip the enemy like a football or an Olympic hammer, spin around and throw him instead. How you carry your target around is what determines what wrestling power you’re performing.
-What about Enormous Monsters like Grond and Destroid?-
They’re big alright and I don’t see any problem with being able to throw a big behemoth around. It’s done in comics, there’s nothing strange for a super strong hero in a fictional story being able to hurl a 15 story tall giant when he can carry a barge or even shake a building. They might not be able to do a piledriver or an around the world leg spin throw because most people in this forum seem to irk at that idea (I again don’t see why not), those can be limited to just a powerful punch that deals about 50% of the damage that attack was supposed to do or an open palm strike. Other moves like Bodybag (a simple pick up and throw) can still be executed. And because the set could have weight divisions on how much you can throw Cosmic enemies could be similar or beyond the Titanic level.
-What Position are you and your Target In?-
It will work just like a crowd control ability except you have to come very very close to your target even closer than the general melee attack (like the way it was before the melee patch) to grab the enemy. As it is a crowd control ability your target can break out of it the same way they would break out of an Ego Hold and with greater Ego or maybe Strength they can break out of it quicker (Strength can act as the counter that prevents them from struggling out so easily). You would then throw your enemy and they will land where ever the move directs them to. Bodybag the simple lift and throw would be the only ability that lets you throw your enemy towards the direction of your choice. There could be throws you can only execute when behind your enemy as well to put some strategic edge to how you play a throwing hero but will have better results than powers that throw your enemy by grabbing them in the front.
-I Would Only Need One Throw, the Best One So What’s the Point of a Set? Combinations is the Key-
I could say the same for Might having 3 different single target attacks (Uppercut and Haymaker work together, Demolish is not necessarily found in people’s power choices but has been known to be nice for tanking), Heavy Weapons is bound to have tons of AoE attacks, each serving a different purpose. The same can be said for Wrestling. It’s not like you can use Arc of Ruin and Skullcrusher at the same time. I also thought of being able to chain throws and reducing the effectiveness of the second, third throw would be done to make it a not a bad idea to choose more than one throw power there is.
Each throwing power could serve a different purpose, either to reduce their defenses, slow them down, disable some recharges, or just to deal some flat out heavy damage. I would say a total of three throws can be chained together and the second and third damage or bonus effects would be reduced but you would be maybe able to apply a weak defense debuff, a slowing effect and apply OK damage in one motion. And when you are chaining them the “purple break free bar” will continue off from the second and third, a little bit of the bar could be restored when the second and third throws start though just so it doesn’t become deathly easy to break out. So after you performed your first throw there will be a 4 sec timer before you execute your next one and then that’s when your purple break free bar combines with the second throw, if you wait out until the Throw Immune debuff is gone your next throw will not share the same purple break free bar.
There is the argument that this could prove to be overpowered in that you will have complete control of the victim, but as mentioned the purple break free bar would be connected to all three throws so you will be able to break out of it somewhere between the combination resulting in a failure to apply all three throws. Each throw will place a “Throw Immune” stack on the victim, if up to three is stacked you won’t be able to throw the victim anymore or apply a crowd controlling effect on him. A super heavy damage dealing throw (to a similar magnitude to Haymaker) will place two “Throw Immune” stacks and can only be chained with just another one for a total of two throws for balance.
-Strengths and Weaknesses of the Set-
Like every other power set it would have strengths and weaknesses. First of all the power set would be mainly single target based, its damage would be only crushing damage it would scale well with the other passives on the Might set, it mainly grants control over a single target and by a certain power let you grab multiple at once for some quick damage. Against other players and up to Super Villain CPU enemies there isn’t much of a problem with your throws when you fight Legendary Villains and above you will find some difficulty in grabbing them and against Cosmics sometimes no grabbing at all.
The Strengths are you will be able to have a lot of control over a single target. It’s excellent for tanking bosses or alpha striking the Master Villain and pretty much throwing him into a ring of your own. Very suited for PvP and complements your other moves that knocks an enemy up into the air as a beginning combo to your throws, very powerful in melee and because it can ignore blocks it could be like every throw has a built in Crippling Challenge except it doesn’t disable the block just ignores it. Throwing will be a way to chain multiple debuffs on your enemy while applying damage or apply a debuff of your choice and then slam him with heavy damage.
The Weaknesses are that it requires you to be incredibly close to your enemy to grab him becoming an easy target against crowd controllers and run and gun types, Not the best for endgame PvE as it is built for endgame PvP more so, and will have a hard time throwing Cosmics and Legendary Villains around, and there’s the fact that their victims can break out of the throw or throw combination, to make up for this short coming there are some basic strikes in the set or some can be taken from Might or Heavy Weapons. People with high Strength/Ego will be difficult to keep down and would be the challenging enemies to pin. The set like every other ones is not self-sufficient and would much be compensated by taking powers from other sets like Unstoppable, Defiance, an active offense, an active defense etc.
-Strength Levels-
Like there are strength levels on how much you can pick up and throw objects, the same would apply to the wrestling/grappling power set. This might be a bit too much to reprogram every enemy in the game possible unless there was a particular variable that they all share that could be used in connection to how much strength you have and how much you need to throw them but for now I’m just leaving it for food for thought.

This would be an awesome set to use as a mecha character. If only we could have a car for a head.

Becuase chicks dig giant robots? :D
Anyways, this is an interesting and well thought-out idea. I would be curious to see a dev chime in and either agree or completely shred it with facts(either way we would at least know) so..

While I don't think we could or even should see an entire set devoted to this, I would kind of like to see a few throws added into might and martial arts.

i would love to be able to throw like rogue throws a sentinel, that would really kickass.
sentinel: ---TARGET CONFIRMED, CAPTURE TOSHIYOUGAN SORUDO----
sorudo: are you seriously gonna challenge me?
sentinel: *punches sorudo*
sorudo: *grabs the hand and throws the sentinel away* *sigh* they never learn.
