I just thought I'd finally post up this little suggestion for the character creator options.
Basically put, this game has a great character creator with so many amazing options to do untold amount of creatures and people and robots and so on, yet the game always treats you as some medling human. I was thinking, and this could be tied to costumes, that there could be a special tag added that gave your character a 'type' so that people would treat you as such.
This tag would just change a few words that enemies and npcs would say to you. These tags would have to be broad since there are so many things you can choose to make, but a list could be something like:
Human (default)
Celestial
Demon
Animal
Bug
Alien
Robot
Undead
Cyborg
If there's any other major, but generic tags that could be added, feel free, but I think the fewer the better, just enough to differenciate your character a little more and help with immersion. It would just be nice to have people treat your character like they truly are what they are :o

Plant, Fey(Fairy), Monster, Elemental, Energy Being, and Spirit come to mind.
But why not just make it a text box? That way people could simply type their species in, and the NPC's could reference it just like a name. They do something similar in STO already.

That's actually pretty great! My only reason for the pre-rendered simple ones is because it would be odd at times for people to know exactly what you are each time. But yeah it would be nice to be able to be treated as more then just human. We have robot parts that are -clearly- not biological at all, we have animal tails that actually move on thier own and heads as well. There are demon parts and so on, so yeah, it would be nice to have obvious generalizations that work to make people feel at least closer to what they invision their character.

It's a good idea. It's been done in plenty of other MMO's where they just insert the character's class or race into the NPC dialogue.

I like this idea as well. It wouldn't be high up on a list of things to do, and it's not even that high on the list-of-things-that-irk-me, but would definately be nice. I like the idea of keeping it with the costume as well, since most people could be disguised as a human in one costume and be something completely different in another.

Think it would be a monsterous undertaking to do - chaning every dialog line in game
but it would really add that extra little thing.
I am a little tired of my demon being called "petty human" its just damn insulting to be called human while your toasting everyone around you.

it is actually pretty simple to do, just takes some time to make it work.

I agree, this would be a great idea - let us type it in and give us like two or three examples of how it'd be used when we're typing it in (to preent stuff like "I am an awesome guy" but the enemies reference it so it shows as "I hate I am an awesome guy!!!")
I think it'd be really cool - have enemies actually say to me "Prepare to die, prototype!" or "A pathetic half-demon is no match for me!"

Yep! That's why I was thinking of trying to limit it somewhat. Most would work regardless but just having some key insultes from enemies or good guys refering you to something more then just average joe/jane would really add flavor! I realize this would be a somewhat time consuming thing for little outcome, but if there was some time around the office and things weren't so important, I think it would add so much immersion to your character!
"I'm going to tear you appart you defective hunk of junk!"
(Robots)
"Prepair to die you stinking creature"
(animal, demon, alien, bug)
"You should have stayed on your own world!"
(demon, celestial, alien)
So on and so forth. As for mission text, it wouldnt require as much change, just a few key parts could be altered so that you dont have NPCs saying things like "Thanks for the magical charms, now I'll be able to send the demons back. Don't worry about trying to figure it all out, demons are complicated" to your demon character >.> Instead "Thanks for the magical charm, now I'll be able to send the demons back. Don't worry, it won't harm you."

Yeah, but the possibilities...!
Dead Poo can be told by baddies "I'll deal with you, you piece of ****!" and they would be totally, 100% accurate on what he is!
