Want to make controls default for all chars

Hi... I just spent a good bit of time tonight resetting a new control scheme/keybinds for one char, and I want to make it the default for all my characters without having to go through the tedious process of setting all this individually for 12 character slots.

Could someone please let me know the easiest way to do this?

The easiest method currently in-game is as follows:

Once you have your keybinds set up the way you like them on a character:

While that character is logged in, type "/bind_save" into the chatbox and press Enter.

Log in as a different character.

Type "/bind_load" into the chatbox and press Enter.

This will load the keybinds you saved. You'll have to do the "/bind_load" command for each character, though, and it will not carry over control and HUD options -- just the keybinds.

I do hope Cryptic implements a more user-friendly version that carries over all options, though!

Actually, if we're going to post methods that don't work, the easiest method is to do nothing at all. That will copy some of your keybinds, but it doesn't copy all of them, so it isn't really a viable alternative for copying keybinds from one character to another.

Have you actually tried to use the controls? I do this with all of my characters and haven't had any problems. The in-game options window does not seem to show the binds properly, though, so I would not rely on that; test the character conrols directly.

I have used /bind_save_file <filename.txt> and /bind_load_file <filename.txt> since beta and they work perfectly for me.

Please keep asking for a way to save the controls and HUD. The squeaky wheel will get the oil, hopefully.
