I'm curious as to how exactly Clarence works, specifically in terms of rewards. Given the scalability of his design, what are the scores for his open mission actually based on, and do they influence the quality of the drops like normal open mishs?

I've seen people rated at the top of the list on any given encounter report they recieved the basic gingerbread cookie while others ranked below them got the rarer costume unlocks and/or Clarence fig. However those that do get good drops at least tend to rank highly (as I did with the only noncookie drop I got). So is it completely random, weighted by performance, or a little of both?

If it's random, I may keep jumping on the tran-instance train to farm him, but with the huge fps hit of 50+ players burning him within a couple minutes of the spawn, I'm lucky my melee character can reach him on time, let alone land a single blow.

um..do player spawned attack toys get guns and miniguns now too?

I found the actual OM event to be much more enjoyable that the Takofanes one. As it helps to actually be able to see what 100 people are hitting.

Though I still have a major problem with the vector mapping for large creatures, and attacking them with melee. Most times it's impossible to target them with melee attacks unless you hover and thus get closer to the middle of the mob. We really shouldn't have to do that.

The biggest other problems I had was getting 20 slot bags that became worthless once I had 3 since they were bind on acquire, and getting 4 duplicates of two different costume pieces, 3 of another, and 2 of the other, before I got my last one, most of them being worthless.

Would have been a lot better to have given out some sort of rare generic item drop that you could trade to a vendor for one of the prizes, so they could be bind on aquire, without amassing worthless duplicates and being frustrated that you can't get the last one you need.

It took me 40+ hours of grinding Clarence to get all of the rare drops, so when I was done I had more of a feeling of thank god I don't have to participate in this event any longer than wow that was fun.

But once again the Clarence fight was better than the Tako fight, though Black Harlequin should have been less of a wuss.

I realize he's a Joker knock off and thus wouldn't be too hardy, but he could have had an upper hand to make him a bit of a challenge, and last a little longer, like having duplicates of himself, or riding in something, etc.

The presents have a decent drop rate, though I think there should have been a lot less disposable presents.

Hopefully these holiday events will get tweaked as time goes on so they reach the potential I know they're capable of.

Grinding for hours to get costume parts and not getting them?

That is incredibly frustrating. I like the idea I've heard about tokens. At least that way you can feel like you are making progress. Every time I place in the top 10 and get a cookie, I want to break something. This has happened A LOT.

I couldn't care less about the dolls, but the costume parts are another story.

Could you at least let us know if you will put them in the C-Store so I can throw money at you and stop wasting my time trying to get these costume unlocks? This is too frustrating, and it defeats the fun of the event.

Have you guys playtested this? Anyone on staff grinded a bear for 18 hours and get nothing but friggin' cookies????

Big problem with this event is that in order to get everything it requires MASSIVE effort. I have had over 25 costume pieces drop and still need arms for complete set. I have 8 clarence bags on main, but no action toy. These surpless wins means I have deprived others of a winning something they need. Next time, drop tokens we can exchange for what we want, so no duplications, let alone 10 items the same, as I have had ie the mecha eyes.

I was excited to try out CO again when I read about the winter event but its just annoying, presents randomly scattered around the city and when you find them you even get the items you need to collect. I killed 30 now and still don't have one of the items I need to collect. Boring and dull, like CO gets after the first 10/15 levels of a new character.

Just a word of advice. When you do future events, can you please make sure the "entire" event is patched in from the onset? Patching in Santa's turn-ins after the fact, without so much as a mention in the patchnotes, is disheartening.

Through concerted effort (focusing on opening presents) and 2 trades of extra parts, I managed to get all six of the Champions figures in about 5 hours (played for about 3 hours yesterday and about 2 hours earlier today). If you want them, put in the time. If you're not willing to put the effort in, then it's probably not that important to you anyway.

Hope this stuff is available on C-Store for those of us who have put in 10 hours a day with virtually nothing but cookies and AF parts over and over. Have all the AF 3 times over at least. Others have the costume pieces duplicate or more times over, bound so can't trade them.

A lot of people are giving up saying they will get later in C-store. Holloween event where you do the "work", put in the time and get paid accordingly was so much better, was heard over and over, Clarence is like a bad slot machine. What are the odds per piece? Someone must have set them.

If resentemnt towards time wasted was your goal, you have acheived it. Not to mention burning out on the game. Talk about repitition.

No, drop tokens so we can get no duplication of stuff we don't want duplication of... and stop having bind on pickup for holiday items... Cervando could give those extra bags to his other toons or friends or group, then same for the parts, or even to someone he though tried real hard fighting Clarence but didn't get anything... Bind on Pickup BAD, tokens that can be used to get items we want and as many as we feel we nee GOOD.

I am sick of this Bear and the 10 - 12+ hours a day every single day since before Christmas (judging time by the complaints from wife, I lost count) beating on bear, placing in top upper half where per Dev post you have the better chance of getting good drop. It has to be bugged. I never placed first but 2nd several times. Over 60 hours no B.S. and on pair of hands. Clarence AF was given to me by a very nice and generous person who was giving his duplicates to several of us. Seems like people who get drops keep getting more of same. Not all but a lot.

Anyway enough has been said about the fail of this event. Happy Holidays, Work your butt off and get nothing in CO while I log into **** and they give you cool stuff just because they appreciate your support, or not in my case. I feel like I should support them now though.

I have lost respect for CO where I used to love it and support it 100 percent. I feel they dont respect the hours I put into chasing this carrot on a stick so unfortunately resentement develops.

Congratulations to those who were/are luckier than I and Good Luck to those who keep trying. I will try only because it has to pay off some time, Unless it is really bugged. There is the mechanism to determine who picked up what from AF missions and other missions, why not implemented in this event? Maybe the post I read about being thrown together at last minute is true?

In the future, put some thought and planning into your events or dont put them out at all. Ironic CO has a refferal program going on at the same time? Are you kidding me? What are you guys thinking? Please drop in on the event, Notice all the "happy" bear chasers. Don't forget to turn on the profanity filter.

Time only counts when talking about the presents, and even then its luck.

And forget about getting anything other then a cookie unless you can top the chart; good luck if you happen to be below 40 or not a fotm build, or healer keeping the other people fighting the bear alive (Unless they fixed this but from what I've read they have not).

Don't you get Defender, Ironclad, Justicar, Kinetic, Foxbat, Witch? Wow, I can't believe I knew all the names (probably missed some). Must be from reading the muliple duplicate parts from Clarence after knocking my brains out farming boxes, selling everything but then it's announced turn that trash in for enhancements. Nice after the fact. Anyway, I think you get all those things dressed up in winter outfits. bfd :o. Now Im doing clarence and farming boxes to replenish the stuff I sold. Try Clarence, it's a fun group haha. Really it is. Can't say same for event though. On second thought don't listen to me. Don't want to be resposible for anyones misery.

I count myself lucky, I fought him 60 times and got a bag, hands, bracers and both monocle versions, that's way better than what a lot of other players got, and with less effort. Would've loved the Clarence AF, but I suspect it'd be easier to farm rare components for the Globals and buy the teddy at the AH.

Still miss the arms, but I lost any motivation to fight Clarence again. Since unlocks are Bound, fighting Clarence has sharply diminishing returns.

I really really hope they put the costume parts up at the C-store.
