Well, might as well help Cryptic a little. What do we think about Champions Online's background music?
I personally think that it isn't as horrible as everyone says it is. Yes, some music is boring, but not ear-bleeding horrendous. While the BGM gets the job done, I'm sure it can do a much better job of doing it.
But I really do dig the Super Villain battle music :)

The problem is that this is a superhero game, yet the music is not epic or heroism-inspiring at all.
It feels like the background music for a cheap Korean grinder.
Whoever composed the music for this game needs to be smacked upside the head.

It varies from zone to zone and I think in most cases it fits the theme. Take Snake Gulch for instance.. the theme there (both original and current) fit the idea of a western. The Viper Base right next door has that action 70's movie vibe, its really cool.
Much of the instance music is also really good. Burnside is good. Off hand, I can't really think of any place that has *bad* music except Project Greenskin.

I like the login screen music when it sounds like regular generic stuff for a while, then it starts building up toward the end AND THEN IT EXPLODES!!

I honestly haven't heard too many of the themes (or was otherwise too busy to notice). I do however, -really- like the intro music, as well as the radiation caves from the early missions (Like the Desert Crisis, and Will to Power where you go after Gertz). Other than that, there was only really one other theme I -really- liked, and it was during a random citizen mission, versus either Viper or Argent.

Does the integrated media player replace the background music or does it just play on top of everything else?

I am only lvl 16 and this is my 4 day playing. I honestly think the music is ok. Not the best, but I am used to city of heroes and I always thought there was a lack of music in most missions. Some of the music though is good mood music. I think when I was in Canada and I went to Rime the music got really chill and it almost reminded me of some E.T. music. Like very soundtrack-ish. Over all I think it's ok, but some more heroic music could be added. Some of you guys have been playing for a while. A fresh set of ears never hurts. LOL! On the other hand the voice overs are....comical. And I think thats what they were going for. Reminds me of listening to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles villains talk. LOL!

I usually like it but as of F2P the music seems compressed for me =\

I think CLub Caprice should have a few different tracks to alternate between instead of the same beat over and over and over again.
