We will be bringing down Champions Online on Tuesday, November 24 from 3AM to 5AM PST in order to perform maintenance and apply a new patch. We will update this thread once this maintenance has been completed. The latest patch notes and known issues can be found here (http://www.champions-online.com/node/594728). Thank you. I just hope the bug with ruffles not showing up in the neck option when wearing a jacket is fixed.

Well all the people upset about retcons can put up or shut up now..since they give you an auto free one at 40..and if your already 40 you get one..and they don't wipe out the Free ones from the devs for nerf / changes or the ones you purchase.

BTW totally looking forward to this patch...but when the hell are you guys fixing conflag or atleast the change that was proposed by a dev during the hoopla.

I don't get the fix they did for Will to Power though. requiring every player to have a key to get into the hatch seems to limit on teaming for it (not that you have to team for the mission but it is something nice to do with friends), before only one person needed to have a key to access it if you were teamed for it at least. I could see however they did this to fix a slight exploit perhaps.

Thanks for fixing the Stronghold bag too cos my guns toon can now finally have his Gatling Pistol graphic. And more bank slots heh heh heh.

Mindful Reinforcement: Instead of placing a fragile shield and a fragile delayed heal on the target, it now has a fragile shield that applies a heal when it expires. The basic use of this power remains unchanged, and the amount it shields for is still the same. The amount it heals for is now actually double the amount of shield remaining, instead of "pretty close" to double the amount of shield remaining. This change also prevents multiple delayed Mindful Reinforcement heals from occurring.


Guess im a bit dense (or just plain tired) but what does this mean exactly? Seems to be 2 ways of saying the same thing--anyone able to traslate that for the slow Roach?

I haven't looked forward to a CO patch this much since... um... Guess this one's the winner.

I have two archery chars that have been waiting to by pulled out of cold storage. Much fun shall be had by all.

oh man they are unequipping super items, this sucks, my char isnt nearly gonna be as able solo. is there any way to stop them from doing this. i know its a fix but my items boost a usually under powered char to solo able

Not that I can't figure out what time PST is, but it would be nice towards your non PST playerbase.

Seconded. 3 AM PST is 1200 CET (1100 GMT).

What gets interesting is when maintenance falls between 4 PM PST and 12 midnight PST, since then the date will be off by one day (5 PM PST on November 24th is 0100 GMT November 25th).

the problem with the Nvidia patch and Co incompability is not Cryptic related but an issue on Nvidia's end and as such Cryptic can't just patch the game to work with the patch,, The issue is (as i belive it where explained on the tech forum) that the driver patch nvidia threw out screws up some of the grafix code in CO and until that is fixed on Nvidia's end the game wont run proberly for people useing geforce 9serie and above.

Could we get a little more warning on when these are going to go live?! Like tell us the day before rather than just a couple hours before, so we can decide is we want to burn a free retcon to get a new one?

There were several people asking questions in the Archery thread about how to determine what counts as 'having Archery' -- to my knowledge those questions were never answered explicitly. We could proceed on the assumption that having any one archery power is enough, but that's not the only way to make that determination and people didn't want to gamble with a free retcon. Now you've pushed the patch live without answering that question, and anyone who was sitting on a free retcon already and waiting for an answer to that question is screwed out of their retcon!

We need some better communication when talking about retcons. You should have posted the fact that the patch was going live on the 22nd at the latest, not late on the evening of the 23rd!

You know that banner on the side of the launcher that says "Nemesis Confrontation Coming Soon"? It said the patch was today, long before today come around.

Call me a fanboi, but this is a -great- patch. Some of the things I love in this patch:

1. If archery's getting some love, that leaves me in no doubt that you guys are also gonna take a swing by the other powersets that need a pass (or two) like the MA sets.
2. More nice improvements to teaming - That's another step in the right direction towards pleasing a -lot- of your playerbase.
3. Bank Slots. 'nuff said.
4. Graphical bugs - The backbend on respawn, the acrobatics stationary jump, the one-shot death animation..
5. Allowing us to set a default action on our teaming preferences
6. Self targetting! I'd set /bind F1 target_self on most of my characters anyway, but this will help those players that didn't know you could do that.

Really nice to see some small stuff that's been hanging around since beta, too, like the Canada Crisis OM completion exp, the fixes for the UNITY missions, the One If By Sea mission, etc etc

Patches like this really give me confidence in this team's support of not only its product, but also of its playerbase.

Actually, we've known for at least a week that this patch was going through on Tuesday, Nov. 24. It's not their fault if you fail to see the blatant information that they've given us.

Actually it said in teh announcement directly that the patch would launch on the 24th.

And my patch got stuck at 95.5% - waited for 20 mins until I dared touch 'cancel', and now the launcher cannot connect.

I've been following the forums all that time, and have not seen any mention made of a specific date. Specifically, I've been following the Dev tracker, and the Archery thread where much of the discussion concerning this patch has been going on. Looking at the CO front page now, I don't see any information about a specific date.

I have not looked into Nemesis confrontation yet, as my main isn't quite 40 yet, so if the info was somewhere in there I'll have missed it, but I shouldn't have to look there to find information about a retcon for Archery toons.

My main concern is that there were a lot of Archery people looking for a retcon, but it was not at all clear just what counts as 'having archery' and many questions were asked in the Archery thread to clarify this. Nobody wanted to gamble with the possibility of getting a free retcon. These questions were never answered, and now the patch is live, so anyone who was holding off on burning a free retcon is out of luck.

I did this mission the other day. I was able to fly directly to the hatch and enter without ever getting the key. I don't know how it interacts with teams, but solo it was not working as intended (and needed to be fixed). I did need the key for an earlier character, so it was working, broke, and now should be working again.

Jet Boots: Ranks 2 and 3 of this power “shift up” at the same rate that rank 1 does. The flight speed at each “gear” for each rank remains unchanged.
