Free Costume Update!

Along with Nemesis Confrontation (http://www.champions-online.com/nemesis_confrontation) next week, we'll also be releasing a bunch of new costume pieces to the Character Creator. All of these pieces are available free of charge when they get released next Tuesday. I do want to ask though:

What's the status of the missing costume options? There are a few between male and female characters where one gender has pieces, and the other doesn't, even though they're pretty uni-gender pieces.

(An off-the-top of my head example would be female characters not having access to Knight legplates, un-spiked knight boots or un-spiked gauntlets - there's more than that missing though).

Still, cool stuff; I just hope that the missing pieces are eventually filled in too.

Those new attachment capes are great, the variations on holsters and weapons you can wear, aaaaaand, the brain in the jar :D

Now THOSE are some sweet accessories! Love that capes can go with jackets, the swords are great, the back accessories I probably won't use so much, but they still look hot! (Not a fan of the hats, but that's just a personal preferences... they still look great!)

There not bad, always kind of odd to see back pieces that cant be used (I played a swordsmen with swords on his back and it kind of annoyed me that you'd still see the swords even though your using them) but it's still better than nothing. Personally I'd like to see more face and chest pieces available.

These are all welcome additions to the Tailor, especially the guitars. Now we just need a Les Paul, a Flying V and an archtop of some sort (a Gretsch would be nice.) Oh and maybe a Telecaster. That would give us a better selection of beloved guitarchetypes.

Awesome! The Hammer looks bad ass..and I'm so excited the we now have the opotion to wear swords on our legs..not to mention SAI!!! The Sai is pretty much my favorite martial arts weapon! Now if Cryptic could make it to where you can use Sai instead of swords in the game..that would be the best thing ever!

First off - I LOVE YOU CRYPTIC - for these new pieces! I've been waiting for that Blindfold for God knows how long (My main in CoH had a blindfold and I was so disappointed not to find one in Champions). Keep the awesomness coming!

I have to agree with Squirrel though; Why are some of the costumes gender specific when they clearly shouldn't be? The Cowl Tight in the Necks section, the Armor Scalloped w/ Claws in the Long Gloves section, and the Bestial Hairstyles are just a few examples of costumes that only Males can wear right now. In what world is a Neck Cowl gender specific!?

So if you're looking for a few suggestions for the next costume update/pack, here are some suggestions:

[_] - Removal of gender-specific limitations on at least SOME of the costumes.
[_] - Robes! (the Mystical trainers have them!).
[_] - Sleeveless Jackets
[_] - Headwear (bunny ears, cat ears, etc.) used in conjunction with Hats & Helmets.
[_] - Access to all chest piece options with a Robotic Armed character (especially when we don't want the chest to be metallic or cowboy-oriented in any way).
[_] - Matching leg accessories, gloves, and bracers to go with certain integrated shoulder pieces (such as Draconic).
[_] - Ability to put whatever costume weapon you've unlocked on your back or side.
[_] - Pants for Bestial Legs! Does every cat girl have to be naked?
[_] - Arm Accessories that actually cover the whole arm. So much armor, but so little arm... armor...
[_] - A one-piece long dress (I hate having to put on a belt just so that my skin doesn't show).
[_] - Some old-school armor (full Draconian, Valkyrie, more Knight, etc.)
[_] - Auras? At least so that we can make our eyes glow?
[_] - More Shirts. Plaid isn't exactly fashionable these days...

If anyone else can add to this list feel free to do so! Cryptic will listen and change things, but only if our voices rise as one!

Perhaps you don't understand the concept of 'payment'. Things which are paid for...are not free.

Frankly, I would be justly upset with Cryptic if they took something I spent my own money on...and gave it to someone for free. Just as I would be upset if the perk items I'm working on unlocking were made free.

An awesome upgrade pack all the way around. Working out an upgraded Poolstroke to use all the weapon stuff now. Just wish they'd give us some more costume parts for the weapons to match...I'd like a tonfa for hand blades, along with sais for twin blades, a guitar to el Kabong people with :D...Heres hoping they're on the way :)

This game is a wheelchair, it's a substitute while we wait for our legs to heal.
There are real MMOs coming out. We all know that.

This costume stuff is lipstick, eyeliner and mascara. It's makeup.
It's your aunt with a new hair-do. She's mildly amusing for while,
but you keep looking around for someone interesting.

Your aunt is still not an astronaut, she still lives with her cats and she still has bad breath.
Only yes, she has interesting red hair with black highlights now.

and on to my own post: WHEEEEE ! more guns and gear.......no characters that can use the guitar -yet- ! but the blaster rifle -> Back is quite awesome as its a Jeffie with a shorter barrel - perfect for most of my munitions characters. i really would like to be able to assemble a full suit of knights armor on a female character though - kind of ruins things when she'd have to run around with chain mail leggings and no neat plates.

Most (all?) of the unique items the trainers wear are crafted unlocks. It takes a load of greater insights and more questionite then I want to think about, but they can be made. The same for the science and mystic trainers. There is a thread over in the items/crafting section with details.

Bug submission system seems to be down so I'll post this here.

F_Helmet_Tight_Spiked_Halo_01 has dissapeared from the costume editor. Saved costumes that use it load up with that slot blank.

Considering how many other costume combinations are messed up we really don't want to loose any more.

Given that someone must have added the new costume parts to this build perhaps that person could be tasked with fleshing out the combinations that aren't available dispite working fine (if hacked into a demorecord for example) and maybe re-instating F_Helmet_Tight_Spiked_Halo_01

Why bummed? You can still defeat 5000 manimals to get it.
Just because they added it to the C-store it does not mean they removed them from the game.

I believe there is a Glow button, like in the Eyes section of the Character Creator. You are then presented with a slider to set how much you want the piece to glow.

I like the new glow but...its a bit incomplete...you can make the arcane arms and belt glow...but not the legs? It ends up looking a bit silly in my opinion...are you going to add more/finish the few so the sets match?
