Stop trying to convince yourself that the game is good and is going to get better. If half the people quit and the only people left do nothing but yell about how everyone who says the game is bad are liars, its a sign.

Think of what else you could buy with all that subscription money. You could treat your friends to a nice dinner, feed some homeless people, buy a few video games for yourself, get some new clothes, treat your friends to a movie, buy some of those season dvds that you keep telling yourself you just can't afford, upgrade computer parts, buy a book series, booze, get a hooker, buy a different MMO that hasn't pooped its pants, buy two hookers, pay one friend to kick another friend in the balls, tuba lessons, get a shirt teasing the people who foolishly bought the lifetime subscription, put it in the bank and realize that having fun for eight hours is better than /telling yourself you're having fun for eight hours/.

Yes, they have these issues. They also usually still have more than half their starting fan base. I remember first starting this game and there being over twenty full servers in MC. Now there are usually eight half full at any given time.

its kinda true the game aint realy worth paying for,its broken laggy buggy as hell, and not much seems to be getting fixed, just slowly adding bits of content they should be adding in game insead of making you buy it.

although the game is a great idea and would be an awsome game when its fixed as it would be fun as hell,

right now im just not feeling the fun your suppose to be,
instead just getting griefed by min maxers with broken OP powers in pvp or getting bored as pve is far to easy.

im going to stick around for another month or 2 at a push, and if things aint got any better by them ill just move on and play my xbox360 some until star wars old republic nline comes out :D

This is actually quite humerous, and I am even one of the fool's with a lifetime sub. Although he may truly mean what he says you have to see the comedy in what he was saying......great post!! I think this paragraph from an article in Game Informer sums it up best for me:

"The EverQuest/WoW-style superhero MMORPG Champions Online is laser focused on one particular cross-section of nerd culture, and it hits the target to the exclusion of others. The comic reader who sticks with Marvel through its mad continuity-desecrating digressions, the TV watcher who records Heroes week after week in spite of its aimless plot, and the MMO subscriber who grinds out levels to get through yawning content gaps: These are the players that Champions will not disappoint."

I am one who this game does not disappoint but I understand for those of you that it does. I do think that in time it will get better and progress as CoX did. For now I am enjoying the game. My main wish right now is that they will bump the cap to lvl 50 and add 3-4 more zones, new content etc. If they can do this quickly enough I think it will do fine. It took CoX a few years to add a lot of features and at least a 2 years for Villians.

I really enjoy playing this game. Why do people keep trying to convince me Im not?

Because picking at a scab feels good until it gets infected. We do it because we love and care about you!

In truth, I'm spiteful. I had a lot of expectations for this game and I loved it while playing through the closed and rather short open betas. While there were balance issues, most things weren't blatantly broken and playing something unique really wasn't going to keep you too far behind people who went a more optimized route.

You may have leveled fast, but it helped to push you towards making alts. You aren't losing much time by making a new character if you can hit 40 in a few days of casual play, so I got to see and make all these fun and interesting things. Then I hit the content gap, and playing something else because I couldn't continue with the character I liked in the first place killed it for me.

Now we're left with a pale remnant of the possible giant that could have taken the industry by storm. Every time I see the hollow husk of what was, it fills me with anger and a foul rage that something I put so much time into and stood behind even when others told me of its faults would turn around and prove them right.

I was in your shoes, I enjoyed it. Then the developers spat in my soup and expected a tip.

i just hope atari stops skimming money long enough to actually hire some more devs and pump out some content, rather then continue to go the route the game currently is. I still have huge hopes for this game ( through all the crap that has happened, im still rockin a build that has and due to its not OP powers, but supreme synergy, wont be nerfed anytime soon) to actually take off and go somewhere.

Cause tbh, it seems this game is only a small stepping stone towards getting STO out and getting all those trekkies hooked on ship building phonics ^_^

I'm still keeping an open mind...but as of you, I'm not seeing much hope currently. But that does not mean it's down or out...so I wouldn't go so far as to write it off. Games in worse shape have pick themselves up and moved forward.

Perhaps some of us need to take a break from this game for awhile...and maybe after a few months or even a year, come back if we're hearing good things about it. It maybe not for us now...but maybe for the future it will be. Just saying.

Ok, firstly I want to know where this person lives that you can treat friends to dinner or a movie for $15? Or get two hookers for that matter. I've only been playing for a couple days now, and while there are some issues. the game hasn't been up for long. Yes, if you sit there for 6+hours a day, you ARE going to go through everything pretty quickly. For now, it's not a bad game. Having played coh/cov, this seems like a newer version. Yes, the custom frames are nice to get just what you want (within limitations). I like the idea that you can learn other power sets. The character design is pretty much the same as COH, so that was a little bit of a disapointment, but I knew the costume designs were going to be like that since it was developed in house. Anyways, people will stay if they like it, leave if they don't, and there will always be issues at start up. Just look how long the matrix online lasted. It finally shut down in the last year or so. And I don't personaly know anyone that played it. *shrugs*

Interesting analogy in a totally incorrect way seeing as lemmings tend to flock in herds and as most reviews and a lot of posters on these boards seem to feel that CO is doomed, I think that the general populace seem to be leaving and minority are the ones left behind, the opposite to the analogy in fact.

If the analogy is more to do with the documentary about lemmings from the 50's that leaped off a clifftop and you are implying that we are all at the edge of an abyss and are leaping over it by staying then I'm afraid to inform you that the documentary was proven to be staged using a large turntable to launch lemmings off the cliff edge.

Maybe you mean that Cryptic are literally planning to use a large turntable to launch us to our deaths over the edge of a cliff, if that's the case then you need to seek psychiatric help.

Well im a fighting game fan myself. And I compare this game to a fighter in a way. Usually when im done mastering oen character I just move on to the next and see what i can do with him/her.

The game is so flexible with powers theres a limitless amount of customization. Sure the content gaps suck really hard but it's sooooooooo much fun creating characters. I just like seeing what they can do.

Sometimes I spend hours in the Test Center just trying different stuff, seeing if I can turn a rubish framework into gold and make it work, much like how I do rubbish characters in a fighter. It's challanging and is really cool to impress your friends with a low tier charadcter by beating them with it. If I feel I got a good build I go live with it along with my concept idea, I got three Characters im loving right now, an Elec, a Muni/Teley, and a Mighty, all with a cool concept and story.

I won't lie, i've posted, mainly responses about the game in some negetive way but only when I see something that just don't make sense but I always come back to the conclusion that im still having fun. A lot more fun than I did with WoW. Content can only get better and the devs seem to care very much. Im sure they want the game to succeed just as much as we do.

Posting negetive stuff like this just is'nt cool. You gotta have a positive outlook on the situaion. As I said in another post like this one, word of mouth is a positive thing, it's what makes the game not the game itself. If you praise it and preach the gospel to your friends and be excited about it, chances are they will be excited too.

So I would suggest rather posting these troll threads to add some ideas to the suggestion box. Go to the PST and try different powers that you feel are bugged or underpowered and report it. Do whatever it takes to participate in makething this game even greater.

Im not fooling myself into thinking this game is great, I know it is, it just needs a little attention to detail. In time it will rock......just like power replacers.

I really see no point to these threads. Those of us who are enjoying ourselves do know that things are not perfect BUT we also know that the developers are working on making it as close to perfect as they can. In a way all these people leaving is a good thing. Those are the people who believe the game is not going in the direction they demanded it go in. i.e. its not PvP focused the retcon is not freely available.

This means those of us left in the game are the ones for which it is being steered towards. heavy on the PvE with a sprinkling of PvP and as much customization as we can handle. At the moment the game is in its early release form this means it is playable and stable (at least I have found it to be so) the powers are reasonably balanced against PvE (with a few trouble spots but they are NOT game breaking). The PvP can be abused but to be honest thats a consequence of the amount of customization offered and I for one believe its a fair trade off I would rather maximum customization with a slightly out of whack PvP than to be limited in my customization to enable a more balanced PvP.

However the problem we have is the quitters are desperate for the game to fail. Because by failing it justifies their quitting. The worst thing imaginable (for most of them but not all there are a few who still want it to succeed) is for the game to be successful without them because it would prove how unimportant they really are. They need the game to fail and they need it to fail quickly so they can pat themselves on the back and say "phew dodged that bullet" however every single subscriber who refuses to leave is someone who dares defy their wisdom it is someone who dares to tell them they are WRONG this game is NOT a failure it has a chance.

I for one have faith in the developers I believe they want the game to succeed they want us the players to enjoy their product for years to come. I believe that yes things are not perfect but they will be. At the moment the game is still fun and it will get bigger and better.

Just my 2 cents

*sigh* i cant believe this is actually about the launch day patch still.. thats.. well its about 7 weeks now since that happened and this guy's still pee'd off about that? wow man.. just.. thats sad.

what amazes me is the fact that daeke hasnt gone to his bosses and demanded they deal with this "cancelled account yet can still post" problem which, if it was me, would be driving me nuts in trying to deal with. either that or he needs to start bringing the ban-hammer down hard.

still it is nice to see the majority of the community united for once.. if nothing else posts like this do seem to bring people together :p

I'd argue that you're the lemming by posting yet another doom thread. It's funny how people just can't stand it that others enjoy the game.

Aren't people allowed to "waste" money as they deem fit? If I want to spend money on a game that you claim is failing, but I enjoy spending my time in, who are you to tell me I shouldn't?

No no no. We have to be protected from our own stupidity. If the OP doesn't find the game fun and have hope for its future then no one else should either. And anyone who does must simply be a foolish lemming.

No no...I was not proving wrong. Just...lemmings get a bad rap. I mean..a really bad rap.

It's sad.

Im not just doing it for the respect of the Forumites...who I adore, but also lemmings everywhere you have to put up with this kind of crap.

Imagine how you would feel as a lemming, searching the internet and finding these types of racist...and offensive comments about yourself.

Wont someone please think of the lemmings!

i just hope atari stops skimming money long enough to actually hire some more devs and pump out some content, rather then continue to go the route the game currently is.

::head desk::

So I only imagined that they released new missions in the 31-32 range, have a new power set on the way in just a week, have more new missions for the 18 level range on the way. Have a holiday event going off in 3 days, and another announced for xmas, and have issue one announced for after the new year starts?

Oh and that the game has only been live less than 2 months and all of this is happening.

SPEAK THE TRUTH BROTHER!!!!

although the game is semi-enjoyable at times i agree that it is on its downward spiral, and i do love to tease the fanboys who no matter what the situation is will always have a positive opinion about the game.

You know what I love to do? Read the opinions of others telling me what I should and shouldn't like and play, what I should and shouldn't be positive about. When I tire of this game, I'll be gone and done, there will be no fuss, no whine. Cryptic will get my views on why on the leaving form.

The lemmings are the people that play a game based on very little else but "everyone else is playing it". My friends play WoW, I don't want to play WoW.

God forbid humans actually have different tastes in what's good and bad.

Pah... Chat is being used everyday by millions of people.
How do you think Chat feels about that? :p

Ahem... But quoting a semi relevant source that well... Shows that lemmings is not what people think...
Chat learned in school what Lemmings where and that it was a myth that they committed mass suicide. Ever since that Chat just rolls eyes at people trying to use lemmings the wrong way.
Hmm... That last sentence came out a bit wrong...

People seem to post this to convince others that they do not enjoy the game but I think I am capable of making my own decisions. I'd also like to admit I am a fan of the game since I do enjoy playing it on a daily basis. I would also like to admit that I don't give a **** if anyone likes the fact that I am a fan. First off I am going to do what I like when I like it. I'm not going to flock with the sheep! I do NOT care what anyone else is doing or whining about on these forums since most of it is calling others fan boy's (which I am and don't care), calling others trolls (which I am not purposely doing ever), or just strait up trying to convince others that this game is not fun like they can't make the decision for themselves. Here is the BIG question, "Do you like the game?" If your answer is no then you know where the door is! Bye, bye, take care then!
