Blood Moon Play Test!

Blood Moon is coming on October 27th, but in order to make sure it's ready for public consumption, we want your help! We'll be holding a play test tomorrow, October 14th from 5PM to 8PM PDT on our Public Test Server. Hop in, check out the Millennium City part of the event, and then send us your feedback! We'll be creating threads on the PTS Forum (http://forums.champions-online.com/forumdisplay.php?f) to focus your feedback on specific areas of the event, so check back tomorrow to see what goals we have in mind for you.

If you haven't yet signed up for the Public Test Server, you can visit the signup page (http://www.champions-online.com/test-shard-signup) and join up. You'll need an active account in order to play on it, though, so make sure your subscription is current.

gah still can't access pts (yes I'm signed up have active retail key and subscription), they also closed my old ticket saying I needed a retail key.. when I do have a retail key active, and had it active before I put in the ticket..

any ETA on letting us manually copy characters and gaining access that way?

Personally, I hope we all aren't going into a Test Server to have "Fun". I want it tested thoroughly to make sure we have 'Fun' when it hits Live..

Good statement to make... People need to worry more about actually testing stuff on the PTS as opposed to just going on there to get a sneak peek at patches and updates... I don't go there often, but I'd like to think I go there with the train of thought that I'd like to make sure the patch works before I start messing around for fun. I know there's a lot of dedicated people who play PTS, just from looking at how many posts are on the PTS forum, but if you go there, please make sure to be vigilant for bugs/exploits/etc.

And obviously, when you've tested what you can and start goofing around, still keep an eye out for bugs... With software it seems you fix 1 bug and 2 or 3 more appear, so you never know what you'll find.

Remember, the "H" key, or whatever your support menu is bound to, is your primary tool on PTS. :o

Yes.

But given the rather vital importance of Blood Moon not turning into a disaster, it's better that people go in with the intention of finding actual problems and letting people know about them.

Is there *any* hope of actually allowing all the folks with legitimate accounts who signed up for the test server, in some cases well over a month ago, into the test server? You personally promised us on September 4 that it would be fixed by September 8:
Everyone else, check back tomorrow, and if it's not fixed, it definitely will be when we're back on Tuesday.

... and yet despite continued posts in that same thread (http://forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?t=49935) that the problem was *not* fixed for at least some users, there's been no improvement or further acknowledgment for over a *month*.

Note that these are people who have fully working and paid for accounts on the Live server, and who have long ago clicked on the web form to sign up for Test access (going to the sign-up page again displays the "You have already submitted this form." in the red box at the top); yet have never had a pull-down to select made available.

There were apparently a few who have gotten their accounts hand-fixed by GMs, but that doesn't actually fix the underlying problem for everyone else.

I try be there, but very doubtful. If was 4pm I may have made it as that midnight, but 0100 will probably see me dead to the world :p

And this is the thing..

Been playing a LOONG time in MMOs, and test Servers generally become an 'Alternate" server to use in case Live is down for whatever reason. people begin to treat it as a de facto server, and neglect to actually report bugs.

I know a lot of people actually DO the right thing - but an equal (or greater) number go just to look around or play.

So was I when the GM Ticket i submitted was answered by saying... We have not test event tomorrow.. heeh. Cronomasters Nemesis's time confuser strikes again.. or Foxbat stole the inner office mail cart w the news..

I did my Angel hair up and everything and the server shut down as I finished AdWare Perk Collection.. Grabbed all the spawn points.. At Level ( I can sure testing dying..

I have that Framework down PAt. Dave.. Down Pat.

We should have a Cryptic Corps member take a Test Pic of us at the Ring for PH in REn Cen..

No touges out were all brothers and sisters. .but i axed a test toon MA Claws to test this set and in live I retcon a lvl 19 waiting for it to kcik off on the 27th.. Yumo.. 24 points to speand on a fun Angel Wolf.

Heres an idea...you roll a new character later on. Maybe its just me but thats what I do when I want a completely different toon.

Of course we would if it were not for the Closed Beta type log in Screen Connection to server timed out and back to the login box and pw then wait wait. .heeh as yes Those were the days I Remember them well..

I'm fed up of missing cool events because i live in the UK, i wanted to test it out now its the 15th i can't maybe display it in UK time too?
