Um, just noticed that there seems to be a noticeable "reduction" in our female characters upper attribute size that somehow snuck into a patch?

I know Age of Conan had a Breastgate that saw a hidden reduction in breast size......

Is this the same with Champions?

I have noticed that the body mass slider effects first on the breasts, intersting enough, so it might be that it's been removed from that slider and as such, effect the body in such a way.

There goes another resource or two if it's changed my body features too dramatically...took me ages to get a balance *fears login*

If this issue is not corrected with due speed, I am afraid I will have to put you on a charge, and let me say here that I am close personal friends with the superintendant of the local constabulary.

This reminds me of women complaining about getting clothes to fit on large curves, and certain sizes not having enough things to choose from. Seems Cryptic is suffering from real world geometry.

Certainly they wouldn't make the mistake of trying to hide a change like this. Hiding things that aren't really such a big deal makes it all the more taboo/conspiratorial. Unless it's not a big deal and they did it anyways to try and make the game more family-friendly, then I'd have a problem. Big breasts on female superheroes is like... a tradition!

But at the same time, I don't think female gamers should have difficulty in recreating an actual female anatomy should they choose to. So their should be highly exaggerated sliders with very small and very large... options.

Hmm. I'm not sure this is something that should have been fixed (if it was) by simply going in and limiting chest sizes. Most of what I'm seeing there looks far more like incorrect deformations/bone attachments or issues with the chest-wear geometry itself than anything to do with the size of the breasts themselves.

I honestly doubt the Mods are going to take this thread seriously at this point, but I'll say this anyway:

Maybe a better option would be to revisit the geometry for the Chest Wear items and test them for deformation issues, as well as re-evaluating where the deformations are originating from. Artifically restricting creation options like this seems more like a duct tape fix than anything else, especially since the player has full control over those sorts of issues, and can adjust their character to reduce or remove them.

Alternatively, go the same route they went with some of the Medium Skirts and the thigh proportions. If you switch between various lower-leg options in the editor, it becomes apparent that some of the choices for Medium Skirts result in a reduction of the bulk of the female thigh models, most likely to prevent the thighs clipping through the skirt geometry. I imagine doing the same kind of minor limiter on the female breasts when some of the Chest Wear items are in use would work as well.

Personally, I've noticed these same issues with pretty much anything that's a separate mesh that fits closely to a character's body parts, male or female - I'll usually just go adjust whatever bit it is such that the body mesh underneath doesn't poke through, knowing that it won't actually be visible.

Even during delivery of our first my wife reminded me of how much I helped. I clearly remember that day... I was there giving comfort and encouragement and she screamed at me "Don't Touch Me!" There was even moments of stuff like "You did this!" and... well you get the picture. Nine years and one child later (2 total), I don't regret helping, although my wife wouldn't do it all over again - I'm pretty sure of that

Oh some of us do have difficulty. But comic book games have to make everything look comic book-ish. There isn't a female comic character that has a waist that isn't 2 inches across and boobs that are large round orbs.

It's something you get past eventually, or at least try to ignore like I do.

I don't think you've explored the sliders very thoroughly.

The chest slider isn't the only thing in play, and you can certainly make breasts more modestly sized than 36C (currently the average size for American women).

Small breasted bodyshape. As someone mentioned, it's a lot more than just breast slider that affects it all. This shape actually has the breast slider maxed out. I could probably make it even smaller with more tweaking.

Small breasted bodyshape. As someone mentioned, it's a lot more than just breast slider that affects it all. This shape actually has the breast slider maxed out. I could probably make it even smaller with more tweaking.

We get a few new people every week at our company (We have 1700 people total where I work) and it's always funny seeing what the new employees wear. They are told to dress very nice in Business casual with rules like one earing per ear - it's uber conservative - long suit skirts only.

SO last weak this plus size (I'm guessing 180lbs) lady comes in wearing a short short Can Can dress - really frilly and fancy like for Burlesque or Latin Dance or something.

This is a funy topic. I recall looking at a lot of female characters with a larger chest than some pectoral muscles on male characters with their body mass indicator set to full. If the person deisgning their character intended their hero to look that way, fine I suppose. But it seems if there are now limitations on those sizes, this is not the only other area that Cryptic is curbing your imaginative possibilities. I recall some poster wanted to make an obese hero but couldn't. So for all those heroic breast avengers got a reduction - that's fine with me. It looked ridiculous to see in any case honestly.

Hmm. I'll try the tailor again, I made her during headstart and maybe the slider wasn't working correctly at the time or something. But I made "the girls" as small as I could get them and she still looked like a stripper.

The Body Mass slider heavily plays into this attribute. Body Mass and Breasts sliders seem to play off of each other in a multiplier way.

Yeah thats true. I tried to create a guy who looks more like the average "mr. nice guy next door" but failed. Its not only the body, it is the cheek bones and such as well...

At least when you build a female hero you have the chance to use small facilities and such (even if it is not perfect at the moment, it is possible).
On the other hand it is not possible to build a hulk like woman...

Btw.: what is more funny in my opinion is the fact that the usual female archetypes have very large facilities. I constantly forget to reduce them. Lucky me they invented the taylor....

But its always funny to see people complain of the many people who are playing female heroes with DDD options. Its not the "average"? So what? If the average would be the top, the average would be less ;)

On the other side the muscles the male heroes are using are far, far away from the average. Maybe the RL en should feel insulted as some of the RL women apparently do...

I ever wonder how the extreme manly men dress themself as it is not possible to reach their own shoes ;)

That is what I wanted to point out. I don|t understand the fuss as well, I just wanted to say that I find it remarkable that people are always complaining about female facilities. If people are complaining in my opinion they should also complain about the other side, which means the male facilities.
But they aren't and that is what makes me wonder...

I don't have problems if somebody wants to play a wonder woman shaped girl or a superman shaped man. Whatever suits them. I am just wondering about the complaining people...

The whole thing is a joke. Aside from a few people posting the legitimate concern over yet another possible restriction to costume creation options, IE, the devs making it so we just plain can't make some concepts, most of this thread has been people taking the joke of "men obsessed with boobies" so far that it becomes absurd, in a form of humor known as satire - trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm used to expose and discredit vice or folly. However, much like third-generation Goths, there are those who don't get the joke, and are taking it seriously, as is so often the case in a text-based format.
It helps to go back and read the first few pages as if they're dialog for characters from Airplane. ;)

Actually, it really doesn't. What chest depth/width does is increase the size of the ribcage, which doesn't actually impact breast size, just the volume of the ribs themselves. I've seen lots and lots of people who have tried this, and ended up with what I called Mutant Carrot Torso Syndrome in an earlier post dealing with pretty much exactly this topic.

It's possible. It's a royal pain to have to go through every slider and figure out how they interact with one another (because it's NEVER a case where one slider controls just one body part). I had to "age up" Boytoy because I couldn't get him looking the way I wanted with him being 14 years old. Now he's 18 and I think I did a passable job of it.

As for me, I haven't noticed any real difference in breast size. I do know they're trying to fix the problem with bandoleers and whatnot showing up crooked, and that might have necessitated certain changes to the upper/lower bounds.

The sad thing about threads like these is the developers take them seriously and spend time fixing them instead of, say, stopping Rituals from dispelling Circles.

All questions of the triviality of ladies' frontal anatomy aside, I think I explained this earlier; I suppose it's possible that some kind of html error is preventing it from being seen by anyone else. I'm also tempted to point out that there's been some level of contribution from at least a couple of actual females (so far as we know, anyway), so I suppose that adds some slight tinge of credibility to these proceedings. I certainly know that most of the females I know in real life would find this thread hilarious.

I used to hang out at a local comic book shop, until it went out of business due to not carrying enough cheesy mainstream junk to make sales numbers. The manager, who was an actual female comic fan (!), had a rather different view on the typical depiction of female figures in comics: she liked them... and would complain about comics that went for a more "realistic" version. Her reason was that the exaggeration of the female figure in comic books (and video games) had passed the point of being purile pandering to male urges and had moved into the territory of being a running joke about the artists and fans themselves. By giving these people the opportunity to ogle unrealistic women, it ensures they continue to demonstrate precisely how juvenile and piggish they are... making them look like fools, which amused her. She also believed that, by continually reinforcing an unrealistic image of the female body, it ensured that these same people would generally not find real women attractive and, as a result, wouldn't breed. The best part, to her mind, was that the people primarily responsible for continuing the running joke had no idea they were involved in making themselves and others look like shallow fools.

When asked about the impact of such unrealistic body images on females, her response was best summed up as "Any woman stupid enough to let this garbage define her self-image deserves what she gets."

For my part, I also enjoy these kinds of depictions... because it gives me an opportunity to take the cliche stereotype and exaggerate it to the point of being a satirical dig at the people who do this stuff seriously. It also gives me an added bonus, in that sometimes I come across someone who lacks the wit to understand the joke, but is absolutely determined to be offended and, thus, makes themselves a target. ;)

It's kinda funny I probably wouldn't have noticed it unless someone brought it to my attention...All my female toons have cartoonishly large uhhhh.....'pecs' and after reading this thread I logged in and looked and I did actually notice a marginal decrease in breast size...

Then I looked again and noticed that not ALL of them had were maxed in the breast department....my robotic toon isn't *snicker* cuz that would have looked dumb....There's probably a really pedestrian and mechanical reason they had to reduce them...as someone pointed out, the original maximum dimensions actually looked sorta off and made it look like the toon's spine was curved out at the breast point in an unnatural way....

Very funny thread though. I have no real opinion on this, although it occurs to me I have something of a fixation with large breasts, if you consider my female toons that is (pokes fun at self) *snicker*

Worse than the bad name given to men by the men she's laughing at? I prefer her outlook to the one that bursts into flames and attempts to ban and burn anything vaguely offensive. ;)

I asked her about depictions of men. Her response was "I like looking at men. So what?"

That would be because, for females, the default body type is "Vixen", just like the default stance type. The other basic body types do not have maxed boobs. I don't think having the default be Vixen is necessary, either, but I don't find it odd... remember CO is based on Golden Age comics.

Cool, glad i found this thread. I thought i was going crazy as it seemed my toons "boobs" were smaller. I noticed this becuase...well, yeah anyway. My 2 cents, "Bring back the boobies (not the birds)!" :D

Personally, I think this is quite a weighty matter, with significant heft. Any truly robust game system would handle this sort of issue quickly and expediently.

Forgot about breast enlargements being a priority in this game. Is it really that important? You don't hear the men complaining about no crotch enhancements for our outfits do you? And please don't give the excuse that you can't make your envisioned heroine the way you like.

Everyone has to be superfit and athletic, because that's the real world (this sentence is sarcasm). :)
