Well, I'm not a peopole, so I think I can disagree with this one. I'm also not sure what you feel like, so I can't judge that, but I'm guessing "mammal" with a bit of "quivering with rage" thrown in. If you don't mind, though, I'd prefer not to find out... you might have cooties.

Hmmm... I wonder what happens when a peopole runs into a member of the SuperStripper Brigade*? Probably best not to speculate.

personaly i want a retcon too

1) tk shield change, now i know it was bugged, but i wasnt using it for the bugged reason, i was using it for the lingering energy build it had(the block was a bonus) now im down that energy building skill i had
2) stat changes: major one here, why in the world would ANYONE take ego as their superstat now? really? the only use it has is breaking holds, which im already stuck in anyway when i get them on me(even onces that ego is supposed to break easier, and im close to 300 ego) so obviously that function isnt working correctly, and being able to get 60% severity at 30 ego at 40, and at 300 having close to 100% only, i dont see a huge need for me to stack it like that compared to something else i could now stack.

now, granted i am working my ass off to get resources for this respec, which is close to 1k global to do, i dont feel its right, even the GM responses have been lacking as to why, i understand the tk shield isue not being enough, but the stat changes were just ********, or at least ego was

I have yet to use my Munitions chick, who was a dex / ego build, so a retcon could very well be in need for her. Still, I usually tend to give it a day or two before I deem a retcon necessary, but that's just me.

Believe it or not, making a ruckus in the forums actually does work, provided:
1) You can make your point clearly, civilly and reasonably.
2) You get enough support from likewise reasonable and rational people. (Having a complaint that doesn't boil down to a personal issue helps with this.)
3) You are willing to be patient for stuff that might be more important to be done first.

I'd say that you'd be amazed how many people are teh FAIL at one or more of these, but dis r teh intarwebs, ongoing case study in how low the lowest common denominator really is. ;)

On a more serious note, nothing in the last patch should have "ruined" any characters. A sorc/supernatural build of all things shouldn't have been touched in any significant manner.

If it's is about the loss to energy redux for Int i hardly think that broke anything as one energy builder tick will recover that.

Quit whining about Free Retcons every time the powers get a minor tweak... Cry more seriously.

Take WoW for example they didnt give you free respecs unless the Talen tree had a Major Makeover. As it is now there is not much you can spend your Resources on except to redo your powers.. and there isnt a reason why you cant redo your powers several times throughout your career without any type of heavy farming.

Unless that is you arent very good at managing your resources in which case.. thats a character flaw and not a cryptic one

theres a difference between diminishing returns, and what they did to ego

why can someone with only 30 ego at level 40, have almost as much crit severity as someone with 300 ego.....seriously

The Patch Notes state that a 50% increase in critical severity is easily obtainable, but that to move past 80% is more difficult. I'll go ahead and make the comparison to CoX's enhancements ...getting to 75% increase in many powers was cheap and easy; after that, each enhancement became increasingly more ridiculous in the cost-to-percentage-of-enhancement ratio. There became a point where it was useless to spend more on a particular kind of enhancement. Without the formula or some numbers to run, I can only say that we'll have to find that balancing point where it becomes useless to enhance our ability scores any further.

This is diminishing returns in all of its glory, and you're probably right in stating that having an EGO of 300 is now useless. I have to ask though: what the heck kind of critical damage were you doing BEFORE?!? ;)

thats 250 points of stats i could be putting in so many other more deserving areas, which were not "nerfed" in order to actualy get the bang for my buck for my stats

I sympathize with everyone who was affected by ED --er, I mean diminishing returns. I've definitely been there: wasted time, wasted resources, feeling gypped. But I'm still not surprised, and I doubt it will be reversed.

yeah, with dex, i had almost 300 also, i lost 5% of my 40% i had, but theres a huge difference in its soft cap and what i have(also tie in the fact i use LR< which scales based on dex, and add in my avoidance and dodging) dex isnt as affected

but with ego, you get crit severity,a nd thats it
sure it says you get intangible hold reistance, but thats utter BS, it doesnt work, at all, i can get held by intangible holds and be unable to break out of them for 15+ seconds even when i have this much resistance, as if they were tangible holds(which i dont have the stat to resist)

it is supposed to, but it doesnt seem to be working properly

i have more ego then most people can possibly get now with normal gear

yet people with less then 100 ego(or even less then 50 in most cases), are using intangible holds(the kind ego affects) and i am unable to break out of them
hold resistance does not work properly at all

Ego doesn't affect hold strength, I've seen this posted by a Dev somewhere. Anything/anyone saying it does is incorrect. Use the search tool on the forum or the Dev tracker and find the post, it's there.

Breaking intangible holds and affecting the strength of the hold itself are two different things. They also never said Ego has any bearing on landing holds or the strength of them. It still affects your ability to break the intangible ones however.

I'm just pointing out that you're telling someone that EGO is supposed to determine hold strength, that information is false. Proven here by a dev. http://forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?t=46699.

Hold strength is determined by a few things, I remember reading in the latest dev chat that the opponent's current energy is a factor(hit em when their low/out) as well as how long you charged it if indeed it can be charged.

I'm sorry that I was unclear. TheVedis didn't imply that EGO affects hold strength; the game manual did. Below is copied straight from the manual, but the emphasis is added by me:

Ego represents the character's mental strength and strength of will, and helps determine critical severity, hold strength and break free chances over intangible holds.

And this is most probably the reason why diminishing returns had to be brought in after the fix to crafting.

You can probably quite easily drop a ton of ego from items and increase other stats to levels where your character is significantly boosted.

Same, I don't need one either. as my character isn't messed up. Only reason the op needs one because he messed his character up from the start.

But other then that he can just make alot of global and do it that way instead of a full one.Which shouldn't be that hard due to them increasing the drop rate for items.

Thats the point, the whole reason is to get you to utilize your other stats.
