Rocket Boots lack rockety goodness

So I've noticed that flight and super speed sounds have been fixed.

Waiting on my rocket boots to make that cool rockety sound as I fly.

wait till you rank them up and lose all rockety goodness, on stage 2 rocket boots ot takes 20 seconds to go up the stages, thats 40 seconds before you are running at top speed. Yep, great work.

Just to be clear, I am fine with them toning down the thrust sound from how it used to be.
But.
Complete silence is not fine. I want to actually *hear* some rocket thrust sounds.
This game is all about the immersion for me.
I don't want my Power Armor hero to be what amounts to Superman with two flashlights strapped to his feet, I want to frikkin HEAR the thrust! *shakes fist*.

maybe they should make a volume slider for the rocket boots that affects the way you hear your boots and those in the vicinity. I think that would please those who hate the sound, and those who love it.

Yeah it kind of sucks they made them completely silent shortly after the third stage, you completely forget you're using jet boots.

Where as the other travel powers still have their respective sounds during flight.

Good news folks, after playtesting today on the PTS I noticed my character's Rocket Boots sound continues after reaching top speed. Of course it is toned down to a good level.

PFFFSSSHHT gaining speed silently....throws out cable and starts swinging to keep up with group.

Rocketboots now; an electric-car with broken hydraulic-shift.
I love my boots, if fully powered. But give us atleast some sound-fx.

Thundering pandemonium? I've had Jet Boots since before they broke the sounds and it was never that loud. I could hear everything just fine. What should have been done from the get go was to allow Jet Boots to charge. That's the real problem. If we Jet Boot users could take off in stage 3 flight like everybody else we wouldn't need to keep our boots on all the time. Cryptic effectively amputated the leg to cure a snakebite.

Technically speaking, yes, but in practice we actually get there slower due to the ramping up speed bug.

Apparently I spoke too soon. Today I logged onto live for the first time since the Blood Moon event patch and while the sound played just fine during the test server Blood Moon patch it does not play on the live Blood Moon patch.

As stated in another thread, the best thing would be just to have a volume slider for travel power sounds. Then everyone could set it the way they want. Personally the jet boots just give me headaches if they aren't silent, or at the very least very low.

Me too. Usually works.
Thats just dumb, switching your monitor off. You cant play the came if you switch it off...

They used to be really load. And there were lots of complaints so they made them ultra quiet.

Personally, I liked them the way they were. Gave you a real sense of blasting off. I argued that if they were going to making them softer, they should have an OPTION for it, because some people liked them the way they were. But no one ever listens to me.

If they make the volume for them optional, then would the option apply to just you, or to everyone around you? The only way I can see it really being workable is if it's just for your client/interface. Ie., I turn down the boots, so ALL rocket boots are quiet. Otherwise, I just know there's going to be some brainiac who shoves the slider all the way up and then rockets around in a crowded area to annoy everyone else.

This. Entirely. I wear headphones, and half a dozen people hovering around with rocket boots (myself included!) was more than a little obnoxious. They made the sound fade out for a good reason.

Without rehashing the entirety of all of the old debates on this, I think you know that most clear minded folks that want the sound back aren't asking for it to be as loud as it was. Rocket boots will be just fine with a toned down sound that is much less loud and obnoxious, something other than dead silent like it currently is.

If not, then I wouldn't know how to respond and will just keep poking my head in every six months or so until I get some rockety goodness back.
