Just picked up the game a few hours ago. I told myself I'd hold off but couldn't help myself. Still in the tutorial and I'll most likely redo my character sometime later Sunday. So much going on even in the tutorial I'm sort of overwhelmed. Just need to figure out a control scheme that works well. I though you could do a lot of dodging in the game. Seems not to be the case. Oh well not a big deal as I'm not crazy about twitch combat anyway.

I didn't have a manual in my box. Is there suppose to be one?

Assuming you got that useless piece of paper with some installation instructions on it, that's the manual. :P

The site here has a better manual describing some of the gameplay mechanics, but I learned more just messing around in the game for a few days.

Paper manuals for MMOs are pretty worthless (material is often outdated before it gets to you), that's why Cryptic's manual is in PDF format here on the website.

No. The small 6 page how to install and run the game is the manual shipped with the game. The reason for this is that MMO's change so much that a published manual goes out of date within weeks of it being published.

Cryptic does have an online manual on their website here that you can look at plus there are some very good indepth analysis of what is going on here and there.

All that said they can do better than what is out for a manual and support of a new player than they have up now and hopefully they will improve it now that the game is set in it's basic form.

An example of why the manual isn't so useful is something like the powerhouse in game. The one they have there only showed up a few weeks before launch and they already have a new version due to come out in a couple weeks that has improvements over the current one. So aside from mentioning training in on a manual would already be out of date with reference to just that aspect.
