I'm enjoying it as well. After another month, this game will be cleaned up. It's only going to get more awesome. I'm not including things like nerfs because I don't care about them. lol

Congrats, Cryptic! At the bare minimum, you've got me for 6 more. I really love this game, and I'm even considering buying a new computer just to play it how I feel it's meant to be played. Well, that plus STO and TOR! :D

I'm totally going to buy a retcon. My healer just got the General Practitioner title for healing a million damage in PvP. I don't feel like starting her over just for the new Radiance energy builder. The thing is fantastic. It's perfect for my healer.

CO is like a Dear 1 month old puppy..
one that has not learnt the pleasures o chewing up my
bathroom slippers nor strayed from the cozy spot near the fireplace to preform deeds of mischief.

Now we can play with a little less lag due to traffic in the game! Yay! I refer to the people who stopped playing when their free month ran out of course.
You do know what would help with that lag, right?
OPEN UP MULTIPLE SERVERS... this one server crap is killing us for lag. And I have so many character concepts I wnt to try, 8 is NOT enough! More servers = more characters... Come on, community, think about it and back me up on this!

The only time I have lag is in Lemuria and I think thats a known issue. They are opening more character slots in the c-store this month though :)

Hrm, a perk for those of us who played through the majority of the launch month and stuck around to renew our subscriptions through the second?
Maybe with a free costume piece?
That would be kinda cool.

In spite of all the naysayers, rage quiters, complaints over power balance corrections (ie, "nerfs") and unexpected game server crashes, I am greatly enjoying this game and have started a subscription now based on a month of playing. It's taken me a while to get used to how the game mechanics work, how best to use moves and which moves are arguably better, but it's been fun the whole way through.
I'm very grateful now that the 360 controller is working as intended. Until about the last patch, some of the features did not ever work on the 360 (ie, using A to select a menu from multiple drops, charging travel with the L-stick), but these spontaneously started working the other day and it's just awesome! My use of the mouse has gone down further, which is fantastic news in my eyes ^_^
The only genuine thing that is missing now is a PROPER manual for new players. The game mechanics are huge. If a developer reads this, you must understand that some of us have NEVER played an MMORPG like this before. How to work the crafting properly took me ages as I'd not used a similar system. I had similar problems with the quest options, setting primary quests, dropping accidentally acquired quests (ie, please stop citizens interrupting us with their awful 2K exp quest issues!!!) and finding my way around.
Basically, some players will get all the parts of this game just by playing around. For the rest of us, you need to spell every single part of the game out clearly. An online, regularly updated manual on the site would be the best way, rather than relying on a really dull PDF. The current online manual just doesn't cut the mustard.
But that's really the only thing I'd like to say. It's not meant as a flame, just a positive criticism. This is an area on which you need to improve as soon as you can for new players or just as a reference for the rest of us, but overall you are doing a great job in my eyes. You've treated issues quickly and tried to stay in touch with the community without insulting us or seeing us as the enemy. A certain Java-based MMO game company definitely sees its customers as the enemy, so thank you for being a far better company already ^_^

yes a month now.
and what a month it has been.
i have just been logging in and letting it update for over a week now, as the nerfs have .. . .
skip that talk of the nerfs, i am hoping that the rage quitters and the others that have maxed out the game and are whining about having nothing to do will have burnt out and will fade away now.
and the games configuration can be set back to a playable setup.
maybe the reason i am doing so poorly is that i have been trying to use the keyboard and mouse to play a console type game.
those 360 controllers, are those a usb connect?
if so, i may just go down to gamestop and pick one up.
if so, i think i remember that they don't work with XP pro, but do work with vista.
as soon as i got this machine i installed XP pro on it, and can boot to either 64 bit vista, or my old 32 bit XP.
i only use the xp, but i suppose i could start using the vista boot for this game, if that's what it takes to get one of those controllers running on my PC.
if nothing else, i might just pick up spore, and play that and my other games while this one gets itself settled back to the enjoyable game that it was when i paid $100 for it.

Yeah, it'll be nice when the initial rage quitters do leave & find another game to complain about lol!
Took me a while to get used to the game & the interface too. My controller is the wireless 360 controller using the wireless adapter for pc which Microsoft makes. I'm using it on Vista 64-bit, so yes, wireless 360 controllers do work! Not sure about wired ones, but I'd imagine they would too.
I'm actively enjoying the game, but I'm playing through it also with my best mate in real life, so there's the massive added bonus there for me =)

Nice avatar, Llesna.
Wired ones work too. Wireless ones work with the Play and Charge kit too.
Also a better manual (or better yet, a better tutorial with dynamic hints that go beyond the basics) would really help people. I've met quite a few that didn't realize they could take powers outside frameworks, that superstats alone determine damage (ie powers aren't tied to certain stats), and little things like that that really open up the game and make it distinctive.

Thanks there Sag, it's from my favourite RTS game, Forged Alliance (expansion to Supreme Commander).
Manual should probably be seen as something important to entice more people into the game. Personally, I'd break it down into a quick version and a more detailed one which shows you how to make a character, how to take outside frameworks (ie, like having an INT/END focussed PA character and not CON/STR) and how to work most parts of the game which simply aren't explained.
But if the current progress is anything to go by, Cryptic will continue to deliver in my humble opinion. Ultimately it's just a game, but it pleases me how seriously they are taking it. Keeping up the momentum is harder of course once you set the pace, but that's always the way with large MMORPGs.
We could list all the things we want from the game, but I'm prepared to give them time and bring them up as and when as I'm already very pleased with what we've got so far ^_^
