I tried this on the combat and powers board, but didn't really get many replies, so I figure I'll repost it here.

I heard some people whining about CoPD and that non-magic alternatives to help people tank would be great, so I had an idea for a power armor variety.

Automated Defense Systems
Toggle

Energy: 50 initially, 0 per second afterwards
Cooldown: 0.5 s
Activate: 0.5 s
Cost of Other Powers: +5%

Self Damage Resistance Buff, Self Hold/Stun/Confuse Resistance Buff
Increases cost of other Powers

Damage Resistance scales off of Con

Automated Defense Systems counts as a Magic Circle.

Automated Defense Systems increases your defenses up to a set amount the longer you stand still and brace yourself against the ground. It also drastically increases your resistance to holds, snares, stuns, confuses, etc. However, moving decreases the damage and status resistances by a set amount, but they will recover gradually once you stop moving (probably 10 seconds of standing still to go from 10% to 100%, and 3 seconds of moving to go from 100% to 10%, slightly over 3x as fast)

Advantage: Adapt and Survive (3pts)
You now lose damage resistance more slowly than usual, causing it to take 5 seconds of movement to fully deplete the resistance to the base 10% (and thus causing KBs to have less of an effect)

The weakness here is that there's no defense against knockback, knockforward, knockdown, and repel, which moves you and lowers the defense, (though likely not enough to completely remove the effect unless it's a chain knockback)

As for why there's a power cost increase, well, this is a fire and forget power that doesn't need the constant resummoning of a true Magic Circle, so I figured a mechanic similar to travel powers would work very well here in balancing them out.
