The aim is to give players hotspot locations to fast spawning, tightly knit groups of targets to acheive the perks in the quickest possible time. Theres obviously a ton more but these for now are a list of the most popular and likely to be completed first, I will add more as more information becomes available and update the list with any suggestions.

Keep 'em coming people... I guess the devs wont change the way the perks work any time soon ('cause they sure don't dare to answer any of the posts about it), might aswell go hysteria-grinding to get the items we want.

Good spot for Red Banner peeps anyone?

I'd say best place for Red Banner is where the escort occurs. You have the collection agents spawning and wandering the center of the buildings. Some people might get miffed at you tackling all the collection agents (it IS a quest) but it's probably the fastest way.

Also, the two areas where Metals of Dishonor occur have giant red banner spawns in two of the corners around the rings.

theres a small pyramid on the side of the volcano where you can farm lvl 40-41 lemurians. they spawn is really quick so you will constantly be in combat. watch out for the sorcerors lifesteal though, its the only thing that will mess up your flow.

Great post ...

I think you can farm Irradiates in the desert by the unexploded bomb. I went there once with a friend to do his Nemesis mission and we attacked the worshiping crowds. They respawned like crazy ..... then the bomb exploded. Almost died.

Best place to farm red banner (where I got my flags long ago) is where Gold spawns (top dojo). Farm around her and on the other side. Keep making trips around and the spawns will never stop.

Quess what...thats why it is called a PQ. Its not "your instanced quest" it is a "PUBLIC" quest If people want to grind the perk and get some XP at the same time so be it. There is a change instance button for a reason if you don't approve of the way they decide to play the game they are paying for.

So, either the west coast where the giant robot dinosaur roams, or the east cost north of the Lemurians, south of the worms. Neither are particularly dense with mobs, and both have those irritating overpowered PFF bots.

Best place for the hatchlings is probably the repeatable pseudo-mission with the waves of raptors attacking.

Best place for the Burnside ghosts is the ghosts guarding the graves for the public quest (out of the way of the lowbie quest spawns, so noone's likely to complain) and they spawn almost as fast as you can circle the gibbet one-shotting them.

The fact that I'm even considering doing these makes me hate myself. Regardless, for robot cowboys just go to the ASCII PQ.

For VIPER their base south of Morau's lab has good respawns.

In farming for all my snake bucks I only ended up with ~1200 cowboy kills. And my highest is viper at ~2550. I just don't think I understand some of these. I mean 5000 viper, or qular maybe makes sense. We keep running in to these guys.

But Burnside ghosts? Robot cowboys? The West Side gangs? There's only one way to get those. Go farm 5000 mobs that drop worthless low level loot while stealing mobs from people questing.

It's...very dumb.

I am not sure I can do another set lol

Burnside Ghosts - The low level open quest in the desert on the West side. name?

iirc it's called "Hang 'em High"

I would ask for spots to farm stronghold prison guards but...well....yeah...

only 3800 to go!

Would it be possible to post pictures of the rewards you get if anyone has them please?

Would help people decide if it's worth the effort.

Prison Break in MCity is stupid easy. The spawns double when the Open Mission starts, with each circle around the prison from start to finish you can easily get 180-200 prisoner counts. The 5k perk is the "Prison Jumpsuit" costume piece. With a character with Sparkstorm+adv combined with Gigbolt+adv = 5k grind in about 4hrs, give or take your dedication.

I'd like to suggest Millennium City, particularly the chairs around the Powerhouse area, for the "destroy x objects" perks - "Collateral Damage" (5000) and "Demolition Man" (25000). They're easy to break, and respawn quite fast. Well, they're not exactly mobs, but we are talking about "kill perks" anyway, hahaha.

Took me a while to get the "Demolition Man" perk, but I guess it was relatively fast, using Lead Tempest in Avenger mode. The chair area is also an awesome place to get your Nemesis buddies to spawn in.

Another alternative could be 'em warehouse missions in MC, where you can destroy a ton of crates and boxes. Or sewer missions, with those black trash bags all over the place.

Imoo, the fastest way to get demoman (destroy objects) is to go to the broken (right now) quest near Destroyer's lab. Harmon is standing there like a dingdong with a LOT of chairs. With Skarn's Bane I can get the required "kills" for both perks in a matter of an hour or so.

This one might be trivial, but...

WMD - 5000 Irradiate Kills - Burning Sands

They spawn in groups of three to four, low enough to be killed by a tapped Assault Rifle or Rocket. Also worth considering are the worshippers of the bomb in Uranium Flats.

Just a note on the Burnside ghost thing at Hang 'Em High - do NOT sanctify the graves if you can, this makes the ghosts despawn and you have to wait at least 10+ minutes for the quest to reset after completing / failing it. If you do what I did, and just run "laps" around the Hangman's galleys, you should be able to get an uninterupted 1,000 kills an hour (give ro take a few). This was done by my level 31 Dual Blader with a STR/DEX build and using Eye of the Storm with a rank 1 offensive passive on.

Actually; although I do not have the patience, you can afk-farm the Qulaar Eggs if you have a ranged energy builder. They spawn fast enough that you ALWAYS have something to shoot and there are plenty left-over for the players who need to kill three for their quest.

Hit Esc, Options, Controls Tab- use these to set up the Auto-Target and make the Energy Builder never cancel itself. Park at the other side of the Eggs and stop back now and then to prevent it from logging you out for being AFK. At level 5 the random bugs that pop out of the eggs cannot harm you.

EDIT: A question on perk farming. If you're grouped with someone and they make a kill without you doing anything to it, will you get credit towards the perk? If so; how far away can you be?

Archived Post

I have almost all of the 5k Perks done at this point in time and I did most of those in PQ areas. The ONLY difference is, when I saw people enter the area for quests, I asked them if they wanted to join for FREE XP since I wasn't going to leave. 90% of those people joined went AFK got whatever mission/XP they wanted and I set loot so they could loot everything they wanted.

Every person that came in thanked me for this.....because not everyone is a "Moron" as you put it that are doing these perks.

EDIT: Answer to the Perk Farming question about grouping. NO, unlike kill credit for a mission, you need to do damage to the actual mob you are attacking for it to count on your perk. I tested this with Astra at a few locations to check if it was possible to speed up the process.

Btw, I am Technoviking in game. If you see me grinding your area you know why.

And, best spot for 5k Argent is the Beach south of Slither Beach in MI and the little base to the east of it.

Lumarians NON AQUATIC can be done in the War on Peace PQ in MC.

Prisoners/Guards can be done at the same time in the Desert.

Emperyeons can be done the fastest on the hill ABOVE the sub in lagmoria. These are better to farm for the perk then the lvl 40 ones only because now everyone and their brother are down killing those for high XP and money. BEFORE the patch, they had 10X better drops and were worth the grind for the perk.

Evil Spirits can also be done inside Burial cave if you ignore the totems and just kill the constant respawns.

What we NEED to do is sign something that will get HI PAN back into the game so we can all get our Sorc Teddy figure.

On a side note...if anyone has action figures they want to sell PM me because I am interested. I only need a few more....and I'm RICH from perk farming so ya lol. Also, PLEASE update the WIKI if you find perks not on it and update the previous mentioned SCREENSHOT forum post. 1 Post for all of these will be easier to keep track of.

its not just the open mission area that has them its just the biggest landmark on the map for where the robot cowboys are. the fast spawns actually go pretty far beyond what counts for the mission. also the master villains keep spawning regardless of the open mission being up or not, and with the 10 minute timer you can clear 100 of em in between missions if you want to not be there when it goes off.

location != protocol.

If you want this to go painlessly, set up shop with Munition Bots in turret form and assist stance, yourself in front with Invul, Regen or Circle of Primal Dominion near one of the destructible spawners inside the cave. Then under your HUD settings, select Auto-Target if attacked (or whatever it's called) if you don't have that already.

Go do something else for 6-7 hours (depending on how many Fire Demons you need for the 5k Perk). Or just chat ingame if you want.

I did the 5000 VIPER in the area outside The Clutch in Canada. Took me 2.5 hrs.

The 5000 Psi agents in MC around the park, Psi buildings and surrounding city blocs. Took me about 4 hrs.

I used a lvl 32 character, running between groups with superspeed and spamming Ego Sprites. Didnt even have to slow down. Rank 1 Ego Sprites was good enough to down the VIPER soldiers in one hit, needed rank 2 for the PSI agents since they were higher level + more spread out + mixed in with villains.

When I saw people doing quests in the area I would avoid killing the mobs in their vicinity unless it looked like they needed help. If the entire area was busy I would switch instance. Just in case I switched instances every 15-20 mins anyhow. Best I could do to avoid annoying people.

I think the best place for Gadroon would be the Rain of Frogs public quest. It has a lot of pretty fast respawning Gadroon, and the basic enemies aren't required for completion of the PQ. So it's not annoying to anyone that is trying to do it. Not that it's a very popular PQ to begin with...

Aside from that small congregation of Worms in MC, there's MI too, but they're tougher, and I really didn't find a good spot to work on. The loot's better though, so that's a nice little bonus.

I WISH I knew too. I've been trying to find pets but the only pets I've ever seen are from master-villan Viper Psychics and some Undead Shaman. There are lots of summoned 'pets' from other sources but those two seem to be the ONLY two that count. I haven't even broken 100 pets yet and I've been trying to find them... and I've been level 40 for weeks now. For the love of all that is holy, Cryptic, put more pets to slaughter in the game!

if it does you could have a friend spec into a bunch of pets and just kill their pets over and over.

(PS Cryptic devs if your listening we wouldnt have to bend the functions of the game to do things like this if the goals of some of these perks were "obtainable" in normal game play. If you think they are obtainable, go out into the game and kill Hi Pan :) try it!)

An earlier dev reply about the 5k Kill Perk rewards was that they are intended to be status symbols.

That means something like the Mecha Teddy is intended to be hard to get, and not something everyone can farm in 1-2 hours.

Hi Pan used to be tied to the (seemingly MIA) Gang War Open Mission in Westside.

So, is there a grinding etiquette I should be be aware of?

It's never bothered me when others show up while I'm grinding and join in. Sure, they take some of my kills, but it's not like I have an exclusive to them. Or so I thought...

But tonight I dropped by to pick up some more bomb-worshiping irradiates on my quest for 5000, only to find someone there before me. So I moved to the other side and started killing those around me, only to have the other player suggest I was butting in.

I've done the 5k Qulaar kills.

I am not sure I can do another set lol

Only way I was able to make myself do it was stay in the tutorial and grind the Ironclad PQ.

(You will hit the 5k perk around level 17 and a half) But man it is boring.

I believe that someone did it on the Qulaar eggs at the very beginning of the tutorial. I think they ended up around level 14-15. I wouldn't have the patience myself. However you would breeze through the crisis zones once you completed the tutorial.

Qularr, Viper, Elder Worms, Lemurians. That's all you'll be fighting in the Unity missions so over time you will definitely get those.

Black Aces and Maniacs are near the docks on the west side of MC. There is a basketball court with Maniacs that has a decent spawn rate. Cobra Lords are in the upper left area of the MC map just east of the Red Banner.

I have not seen what the 5000 reward for Cobra Lords are but there is an instance that you can go into and fight them. I think it's where the fight club mission was but can't remember. It is in the Cobra Lord area though.

Stumbled into another one of these last night ... got about 700 in 3 mins.

Also, I re-read through this thread and didn't see anythong on these:
Action Figures:
Action Figure #64 Dr Destroyer's Robot - Screenshot (http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z167/TheCataclysm/DestroyerRobot.jpg)
Requires Perk: Destroid Triumph - 5,000 Destroids

Action Figure #62 Baby Dino - Screenshot (http://www.jackalgallery.com/images/pet_dino.jpg)

Action Figure #17 Mecha Teddy - Screenshot (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v157/Zer0_Digits/Mecha%20Teddy%209000/screenshot_2009-10-09-01-14-28.jpg)
Requires Perk: Pet Cemetary - 5,000 Pets

If I wanted to grind for these where would you recommend? My thoughts are that the Dr. D's robots would be around his factory in East MC. Also that the Great Demons are in the ones in the Tare a little further east of the factory. What about the pets and hatchlings though?

For pets, check the Pet Cemetary (http://forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?t=48424). There's a decent amount of discussion about how you most easily get the perk in that thread.

Raptor Rush (the Open Mission in MI) does not work for Hatchlings, so don't waste time with it if that's your goal. The Argent Preserve is probably the only decent spot for them at the moment.

For stronghold prisoners, the center room of the cell block area in stronghold prison after getting the 4 cell block key cards is a great place. High infinite spawn rate. They just keep coming in from the blocks to the middle. Just stand there and kill. I found CoPD to be key for this, since they come fast and furious, and many are villains.

So far I have completed the Irradiates 5k and just recently completed the Escaped Prisoners 5k. Both were realativly easy if done at the right location. For Irradiates you should find the instance where they are worshiping a bomb in the desert. You can easily get 300-500 off of one worship. Change instance once the bomb explodes. For the Prisoners, the open mission in westside MC is the best locaiton. Again, change instances repeatedly. Also, I found the 10 min timer to next open mission does not work. It would often restart the mission at around 6 to 7 mins left on the timer.

I have now started farming the ghost cowboys in the desert open mission, Hang 'em high. I find standing between 2 or 3 graves and using lead tempest the quickest way to mow them down. Also, since I am using rank 2 acrobatics, I can move very quickly from spawn to spawn. So quickly that I have added a run through the town in as part of the rotation. However, if the server is busy it is best to avoid the town so that you do not cause issues with players trying to complete missions.

There is another spot, on slither beach, which I find works better.

Yesterday I was shown how to *very* slowly farm pets from the Red Banner Sorcer in westside MC. They place sigils down about once every 90 seconds. You attack them and just sit there while the sorcer keeps attacking you... seems too slow to me. I'll have to investigate slither beach. That is located in MI, right? Is it on the west side of MI?

I tried doing this last night. I found the 4 keycards and unlocked the down elevator. However, the NPC police force stayed by the elevator and did not go down to the next level. Instead they stayed to guard the elevator and defeated all the prisoners that I wanted to defeat ... did I not go far enough?

Yeah it appears the NPCs now stay on that level and fight the incoming swarms. However, last night I rushed through and picked up all the cards. Then went down a level and defeated the two bosses. When I went back to the keycard level, the rioting prisoners were all bunched up fighting the NPCs, who where just standing there. A couple of quick gigabolts and poof mass rioting prisoner defeats. Next, I went around that level and defeated the large bunch of prisoners and guards. I would periodically come back and defeat the bunched up rioting priosners around the NPCs.

Not super efficient but the best I've found so far. Street sweeping around the outside may not be a bad idea as well.

Here's a picture of what would happen:
http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/5638/screenshot2009112109183.jpg

However, eventually they stop spawning. I think I waited 20 mins and came back to defeat 200 of them.

I timed doing street sweeping and found that I could defeat about 170 Guards and 163 Prisoners in 20 mins. That equates to about 16.65 defeats per min. I will do a timed analysis of the stronghold mission and post my results later.

EDIT:
I ran through the stronghold mission and attempted to farm it as fast as I could. I was able to defeat 60 guards and 284 prisoners in 28 mins. Therefore the defeats per min was only 12.46. Even theough the prisoners bunch up around the NPCs (see pic) they do not make up fro all the time spent getting this condition setup.

TL; DR: Street sweep around Stronghold instead of doing the Stronghold mission if you are trying to get the 5k priosners and guards perks.

I don't think it is.

Pets: Instead of gridning them out with a Red Dragon Sorcerer, use the Nemesis Confrontation. The pink nightmares say they are pets and a contstant stream respawn if you do not aggro the gladiator.

Also, behind Stronghold is the best place to grind out Prisoners and Guards.

Guess what, it says public quest, not farming location. Anyone going in a low lvl public quest area where people in the correct lvl are trying to do them is a moron. Period.

Problem is there's nowhere but Burnside you can get the perks for Burnside ghosts...
If there's any complaint, it needs to be aimed at Cryptic for the way they've set up the perks.

Best place to grind Maniacs is just south of the Prison the brown colored playground. You got a lot of groups close together, and the have a rather high spawn rate compared with the Maniacs in the docks or anywhere else. Got 1000kills there in just 3-4 hours I think maybe less.

The Canadian Idiots (As mentioned in Wierd Al's song) also known as the Hunter-Patriots are best farmed in/around Rebel Run, but especially at the training facility where you have the shooting range and the groups of exercising trainees.

They respawn quickly, and I can slaughter the entire group with a full charged havok stomp... even funnier is they will occasionally jump back up and go back to exercising for a few more seconds as if nothing happened then fade away :)

Most area attacks, close or ranged, should slaughter these guys, and the trainees are numerous and weak. They're ripe for farming, plentiful, and come right back for more so quick that a half dozen people can farm the area easily and still allow for people to pick up the quests and perks while there

I grinded trhough a few dozen after my teammates and I beat the boss, and they dug their way out. They're not so fast that you're likely to ever be facing more then 2 or 3 at a time, but you can go back and forth between them and rarely have more then a moment or two for healing and resting your fingers before another spawns.

Not like Rebel Run where you can mass slaughter, but if you farmed Qularr for the 5k at Battle of Ironclad, you'll get bored in here with nuking the level 8 droids that spawn here in lonesome singles and pairs.

EZmode pet grind: Nemesis Crisis
Be sure to grab a 5 man before doing this so no one else can zone in to interrupt you.

In one of the Nemesis wings there's an Alien Gladiator who will spawn pink glowy grondling looking pets. As long as you don't aggro/kill the alien, the pets will continue to infinitely spawn. You can achieve this by never going near his cell and just pulling his pets to the corner where you enter the wing.

You'll probably want a decent build for this, as they can gang up on you, have lots of KB and hit quite hard.

Look behind the prison in the desert area. There is a gem back there where three different mobs of like 10-15 guys spawn.
