View Full Version : After playing on test - Pets

Well. Went to the powerhouse on the test server - bought myself some munition bots.

The pets are better followers now, its hard to shake them by just running away from them. That is a major improvement. They also seem more responsive when i want them to attack.

However, they do not travel with you and will still need resummoning after each group of mobs if you use your travel power for actual movement. This means a petmaster is still not a viable playstyle.

Tested pet-movement with teleport, super speed and flying. They try to run after you but then they become sad, lonely and confused. Then they despawn. Just like they do on live.

My suggestion? Make them teleport to their master whenever they get to that sad, lonely and confused state. Having them despawn is just silly.

That's weird. I had Munitions bots in Beta, and they'd teleport to me if I got too far away, even if in Turret mode.

Yes, they did. For some reason they don't teleport like that anymore.

Since launch, mine have always "died" if I got too far away. Even had them die in an instance when I got about a room away.

I'm gonna poke this once before i let it sink into the oblivion of the back pages.

Would be nice to have a comment re:teleporting pets.

Did you report this in-game and/or post it in the test forums? Because if you want your last suggestion to be heard, that's the place to do it.

it is stupid that your pet would teleport if it isn't able to and run fast if it is a slow pet... that would break the illusion you are creating

I had some wolves ( and I wanted a better animal ) if you have a animal companion it would be nice if you could buy powers to it. If you want a tiger with fire breath you should be able to add fire breath. You shoud also be able to get a tiger.

Hopefully we get these things in the future

Reminds me of the original PnP where you could buy a pet/sidekick and buy it powers from your point pool. But if it died, you lost all those points. The line in the rulebook was something like:

If your pet dies, you lose all those points. Now you know why Timmy cried so much when Lassie died.
