View Full Version : Thermal Reverberation Numbers

I have a guy that is specced with mostly fire powers at the moment. I don't have fire breath or the advantage that causes it to put the dot on everyone automatically. Without having that would anyone say its worth it to get thermal reverberation (I use fireball, heat wave, fire end builder, conflag and later will probably have flash fire and/or snakes).

How much end return does it give?

How much it returns will be based on your presence stat. The number is flat. But assuming, for isntance, you can get 5 targets flamed, and assuming I am guessing 5 end per tick with minimal presence, that would be roughly 50 end back every 30 seconds that something is on fire.

I'm stacking pres so that will help. WIth all the damage going on its hard to tell just who gets flamed and for how long they flame for. I was wondering if anyone has tried getting this without flame breath and if they experienced nice energy returns from doing so (basically field tested without fire breath). They typical mob pull is 3-4, so if I only flamed 2, at 5 per tick, thats 10 returned but how often does it tick? Seems like it might not be worth it for me but I could definately use the endurance if it was good. Anyone have any combat experience with it?

IMO the best way to apply clinging flames is Flashfire. However there is another nerf for fire incoming on the test server, so you might want to keep an eye on that. Right now, Thermal Reverb is definitely worth it, but after the change, it might not be quite as nice.

Flashfire is a super-mega-awesome way to get guaranteed thermal reverb energy (and it works on objects too!) for almost no cost besides the power slot.

On live, reverb gives a % of your max energy.
Since I have super-endurance, one click of flashfire means I don't have to worry about energy until the burning npcs are dead (and I like to spam fullcharged pyres, which by the way are another great source of reverb energy).

On the PTR, it no longer scales with max energy.
Since I have medium-high recovery (albeit not super), it still gives off decent energy.
It's not as godly as using an energy builder, but it's still enough to flashfire-power me when I'm healbotting in the balanced role (without having to worry having about keeping the bad guys targetted for my energy builder, I can keep my attention on the tank).

If your Endurance isn't too high, you might not notice the change.
If your End is really low, this change might actually be a buff.

...and Flashfire is getting a damage bump! How effective is the advantaged snare on Flashfire ?

Oh very cool, didn't know it worked for flashfire (dur for not reading the description properly). I am pre/end so my end will be quite nice later, I don't have a ton of rec but trying to keep it at a decent enough amount so I can open well. I guess I'll have to test it after getting flashfire but that will push it even further down my build. How well would you say it would keep you up after the change to it? Like if you flashfire now you are saying you don't need to use your end builder to use abilities? Thats awesome, after the changes would you say it will still keep you going fairly well or you'll have to start using the end builder more?

On live, at level 31, if I flashfire a group of 4+, I can fullcharge pyre.

Repeatedly.

Without turning off flight.

And end the fight with full Energy.
(pyre gives reverb too!)

If I'm chaining pyres, I'll have to endbuild for about a sec (or just tap block for the force sheath advantage).
If I'm finishing off someone with Lightning Arc, it's usually enough to fuel something like two full maintains, maybe more if I'm grounded.
High equilibrium also helps a lot here. :)

On balanced role healing duty, it's usually enough because you don't chain-spam heals.
Intense fights might require you to endbuild a bit after emergencies, but those are rare.
