View Full Version : Tennable bonds. (and magic in general.)

I rolled up a scorcer a few days ago, got him up to level 14 right now, and since this was my first play through with the power set I'll be giving out my first impressions.

The first three base powers are the bread and butter of the set, the CC spell is awesome, specially since its able to hold Master Villians on a full maintain, and since the energy cost for that isn't too high (and since EGO plays into that equation? I'm not sure?) I can hold these kinds of baddies for about 7 seconds. HOWEVER, the advantage tennable bonds is HORRIBLE...it heals you while the power is maintained, and its healing is even worse then the stim pack on holdout pistol in the munitions set. (read laughable) it does about 20 healing all told...if that. So I retconned out of it FAST while I had the chance...that advantage needs some help, ASAP. Luckily, the power its attached too is made of win, so no problems there.

Which leads into Eldrich blast, a great power I see, and the advntage that does more damage against held baddies makes it even better, I read a tip that went on to say tapping the blast over and over is a good way to spike...I agree.

Then our energy builder, I grabbed the advantage that at a 30% it will proc the hold power, and as far as I can tell its at full strength...pretty nifty. I wonder why I even grabbed the hold since this advantage procs off pretty quickly, but some fights, it just won't go off. So I like to play it safe. The builder itself is nice and quick, so no complaints there.

I've not played with a lot of the other circles\aura's but I have had some experience with the Ebon, line. The circle seems spacious(as far as circles go.) and I can run around for a bit then return to the circle (read, if I get blasted by a mob, knocking me away from the circle, I can normally return quickly enough.) The fear effect is also pretty good as far as I can tell. It fears those who hit you, and fears those who get to close as welll..lowering the times they attack, and the damage they do as well. The circle takes a while to set up...and I feel kinda dumb when I can't quite reach the targets I want to hit with it, but otherwise can't wait for the buff coming its way in the next patch. To give an example of how well that fear down damage, I can take on a villian and 2 henchies, and walk away with half heath or more...keep in mind at this point I have ZERO extra con, and no defensive power.

I tried sigils of ebon weakness in the power house, and wasn't impressed...I might go for the fire ones instead later on. The cool down seemed kinda meh...and the duration wasn't that long either.

I tried aura of destruction as well in the power house, and wasn't impresed with the numbers, however, that aura+the circle might be cool, and the graphic effect was just bad to the bone...I don't know how much those numbers will go up with rank either.

Sadly I'm not high enough to play with the summons, and the incoming buff seems like a breath of fresh air for that as well...I'd also like to use Skarn's bane and the buff incoming for that seems like a good thing since I have INT super statted...and well...I LIKE the idea of Invocation of storm calling...but I hear its kinda difficult to use...heres hoping for the best.
