I did everything like I was supposed to and I saw the Master Villain I was supposed to pummel, but he vanished! Where'd he go? Anybody know?

I lost him too, saw him right in front of me, he disappeared, and nothing else happened. :(

I had to drop it and start over...on the way out, I'd suggest not fully leaving the cave.
