I don't understand what this term means. I see mention of it every where. passive slotted power, etc.

What is a slotted power? What are the advantages and drawbacks between a slotted power and a non-slotted power (if any)?

A slotted power is a power that will only work when it is placed in a slot on your hot bar. These differ from Innate Passive powers that will work just by having bought them and do not need to be slotted.

The term also denotes a power that has been 'slotted' i.e. you have dragged it from your powers window onto your hotbar.

It's not the hot bar. I can see that phrasing causing all kinds of confusion.

There is one slot above your hot bar towards the right. That's your passive slot.

One of my characters has Regeneration for example. And that is on the right, above my "hot bar". I assume that is an example of a passive slotted power?

How many slotted powers can you have?

Can you also have slotted powers you need to click on in order to use?

yes, that's your slooted passive

Just 1

And it wouldn't be a slotted passive if you had to click it ;o

No, you can take as many slotted powers as you want but you can only have one power slotted at a time. That one box above the hot bar where you put your passive defenses in like Regeneration is the only slot you have.
