View Full Version : Easiest way to fix PvP problems that requires NO NERFING!

I think we can all agree that the nerfing and cries for nerfing have gotten out of control. I agree that there are some imbalances in PvP that are nearly game breaking but nerfing skills that will hurt PvE isn't the answer. What we need is a way to add countermeasures for skills like teleport, etc. Here is what I propose:


Add items to the game that can be crafted or bought with acclaim that will provide counters to teleport and other travel powers. For instance a device that not only removes travel powers but makes them unchargable/unusable for 15-20s. Give these a 1 minute cooldown.

How about a speed boost that can negate snares for 30s instead of nerfing things like chill? Give it a 2 minute cooldown.

We do not need to nerf anything. Really we just need to add countermeasures or buff offensive skills and things will be fine.

the problem being teleport is bugged, that needs to be fixed (it currently does not have the disadvantage intended)... and the anti-travel powers need to work better against it. If that were to happen then no direct nerf is needed.

The snares... most of them arent very powerful at all except for chill. Which seems like it can stack repeatedly until you're so snared you might as well be rooted.
This offers up two options. Improve the other snares and then implement better snare break options or reduce the chill effect to be more in line with other snares.

I agree with you, but I think teleport is fine. All travel powers have its up and down. YOU CAN'T WIN THEM ALL. Just keep that in mind. I kill people that try to teleport away from me before.

The only fix they need to do is the 100% hold that you can't break out of.

at 35 you can have two travel powers. So you can have everything.
Prior to 35 I can somewhat agree with you that its not as overpowered (although its still pretty bad), once you hit 35 and you can have it combined with other travel powers... then yes if you say its NOT over the top then you have a blatant disregard for balance.

I have one item that cancels flight for 30 seconds and has a 4:45 minute cooldown. So, there are some in the game. Just few and far between.
