So after very many hours of pvp solo and with a couple friends of mine we got to talking.
We all keep up with the forums for any new little info we can get and realized that if we could just separate the pvp from casual and competitive players allot more people would be happy. Basically have one set for people who want to just join in a game and pvp for fun solo and another set for the people who want to pvp competitively with their groups. I can't count how many time I spent chancing a healer around UTC while he/she teleports as I dodge countless taser arrows and ice cages. There would be some people to abuse it but most wont. May even settle some of the shotgun, tele, mines ect complaints. Seeing how all the people who really want to compete will all be in the same area. Just need something to entice people to want to focus on the more hard core side rather then the casual "I'm just doing my quests" side.

Tossing organized groups into the same arena together with random groups is really not a good idea. I started with PvP very early on and in the beginning I had a fairly even win/loss ratio. Then it changed for the worse for me and I had no idea why. I thought it should go up since I was getting more practice and not down. I had no idea that you even _could_ enter UTC with pre-organized teams until someone told me. Then I ended up being in a team with balanced builds that played for an entire evening without losing a single game. Random teams have not the slightest chance against an organized team that's used to play together. Guess how UTC will look like when dedicated PvP guilds using voice com will start to participate. As a random you need not to apply anymore, then. Which is a shame, because I like random-team PvP. But it should be Random vs. Random and not Random vs. Organized. This needs fixing quick IMHO. UTC needs two versions, a random and a team arena.

Totally agree, fighting against preset groups with healers, and people who play together on a regular basis just isnt fun when ur playing casualy, any kind of team joining should be on a seperate arena.
My worst experience so far was vs a obviously premade group all with Shotgun/Tazer/Mines and teleport.. was knockback spammed the whole match.
Tough im glad to say the little fruitcakes failed to kill me.

Pretty much every pvp game eventually comes down to organized teams wiping everyone else except other organized teams. You could try and break that up somehow, but it won't work. You want a casual tier? Non casuals don't care about the label. You want to make it so they can't group queue? They'll just solo queue all at the same time and anyone who doesn't get into the main instance and team leaves, and even if they only get 2 or 3 they'll still devastate the casuals, especially since less likelyhood of an organized team opposing them.
Fact is, you can't tell other players to suck more so you have an easier go of it. You can either get good and find a good team, get used to being farmed, or stop pvp'ing. And that's perfectly fine. Pvp is by it's very nature competetive, and some people don't really want to put forth the effort it takes. It's not a 'skill' thing. You can be as skilled as you want, but if you don't put time and effort into building your character and organizing a team, you're going to be unsuccessful.

Sorry dude but you are mistaken. I have played organized PvP for years now and if I know my fellow competitive PvP'ers they will tell you the same thing. It isnt as fun to train wreck a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off, because that's easy and doesnt show the true skill of the competitive player. Real hardcore pvp players want to face eachother. They want to be the best of the best, and play against good players, so they get better. So I think that point is invalid on your half.

At the very least this would put the serious groups in a division for them selves, and there would be less organized groups in solo player division, not to mention the people who have to resort to teaming vs randoms arnt that bloody skilled in the first place.

Group PvP queue and a separate single player PvP queue?.. That actually sounds great to me. I have an SG with Vent and we can roll together and though we are not a PvP SG, we can crush a lot of groups, sometimes horribly so. I also do quite a bit of solo PvP queue time. I really like the randomness of the groups and then the next battle you fight against some of the people that were just in your group. Good Times.
Now when the solely PvP organized SG groups start dominating level 40s PvP and whatnot, that will end PvP for many casual players. You can only get smashed down 15-0 so many times against an organized group before many will just say forget it. I've seen it happen plenty of times in other MMOs.
So, now that I have rambled on... I think a separate queue for groups and singles (or doubles?) would be awesome. My wife also enjoys the random PuGness of the early PvP. You can make good friends their :)

Splitting the casual players, like the people who solo or pair up in teams of 2 or 3 from the hardcore groups of 4 and 5 who spec builds that are set to perfect balance with the team would make it a lot more enjoyable over all for me.
I mean, I got 19 credits and labs 5 days a week. Even If I wanted to get a team together, there's no chance I will be able to be there for all the games anyways. so when I do play, I just want to quest a bit then join a few random games with a friend. when I get 3 games against organized specialized teams fighting me and 4 randoms, it kinda leaves a bad taste... ya know? Just don't group me and 1 other person in with the organized teams when we queue in a party. Trust me, we are not a competitive team...lol

Hm... thats a good idea, for now.
Teams of 5 that team queue up should be put against other teams of 5.
Until we can get an actual way to fight group vs. group.
/misses coh arena system.
