unless you never solo the build looks ok, i would take all the advantages that give back energy becuase you look like you want to focus on dps and throw survival out the window, i would also get power guantlet because it costs less then chest beam and still does good dmg.
if you plan on soloing i suggest as i suggest to all PA using toons to take invul and put stats into str and con.

The above build is perfec for soloing.

What I would like to know with alot of these PA builds going around, as I have been "toying" with mine so to speak (on 4th re-roll now), is how some individuals are listing concussor beam as the second of the first two powers? Tried doing this in custom framework building in the actual game, and it will not allow this...?
Does the builder need to be updated?

Yeah, unless I have a VERY clear idea of what I want, and am sticking mostly to the framework laid out for me, I hit the PH after getting 6 or 7 and (using cash from another toon) retcon all the way back to a completely blank character sheet! Waiting a level or two makes it more expensive (though not by much compared to higher level incomes) and gives you more advantages to play with.
At the very least, I usually retcon out of my second attack power for something more fitting with my build. (AR for Munitions (w/ Mow Em Down for 0 cooldown) or Roomsweeper for Might (I have an unhealthy relationship with knockback...))

How do you not pick Power Gauntlet in this build?
No flaming, I am still catching on to what I can and cannot do.

I did a INT/REC build and picked Regeneration and Resurgence AND Unbreakable (thinking of adding Nanobot Swarm once I figure out why their 30/60/90 sec reduction isn't really 30/60/90 seconds) and I picked Concussor Beam over Power Gauntlet because they are mutually exclusive, and concussor beam turned out to do more damage. Plus, it's more energy efficient in that it uses only what it needs where Power Gauntlet has the possibility of charging more than you need.
One suggestion for OP is to add Teflon Coating to the Mini-gun. It makes a big difference.
Also, from what I've read, not personal experience, Chest Beam is only really good for the debuff because of the energy consumption.
Another suggestion is Force Sheathe on the Force Shield. Also, look into Orbital Cannon, Munitions Bots, or the Attack Toy, and the Mines, can't think of the name right now.

Conc and PG aren't really mutually exclusive. They do different things. Just because you can't use them at the same time, doesn't mean situationaly each doesn't have its place.
Conc beam is more dps do to its maintain vs PG charge time. Add in accel metab.
Pg has longer range though. And its a bigger hit, making it more effective to snipe with tfrom time to time, and hit regen/invul targets. It also interrupts casting. Life drain for instance.
Pg is more efficient by far. There is no "wasted" energy. Conc beams activate cost+1 second of use=a full charge of PG. Even tapping conc beam will cost as much as a full PG charge.
Yes, teflon coated is a must for minigun.

You're right about not truly mutually exclusive, I was referring to using them concurrently.
I disagree that PG is not inefficient. While it does have different traits, you have to gauge exactly how much of the PG to use to finish of a target, while Con Beam cuts off automatically. The efficiency comes in practical use. There just isn't a need to tap Conc Beam.
Bottom Line, they both have their uses, pick which one suits you the best.

One problem I see with this build is that, as far as I'm aware, you can't actually take Concussor Beam at lvl 1 - the earliest you can get it is lvl 5. So you have to take Power Gauntlet unless you grab something from another set.

Look at the math closer.
conc beam.
29 activate+14/.15.
so tap .5s.=43 energy. (using base 259 damage) 6 damage/energy
1s. 57 energy. 518 damage
1.5s 71 energy. 777 damage
PG
14-53 energy.
tap 14 energy. 97 damage
1.5s 53 energy 511 damage
+.5s activate its actually only landing once very 2s.
Conc beam has a flat activate cost. its more efficient when it keeps going, and not very eff at all if you just tap it.
You know though. A full duration conc beam IS more eff then PG. I hadn't realized that. Although i did know it was more dps.

It was stated earlier in the thread but a common tactic is to retcon right after the tutorial before powering up and removing one of your starting powers and putting in another Tier 1 power in its place.

Chest beam + Point blank advantage + close to target + tap button alot = burning carcass.

That's how I always use it, on the remaining big guy target. Since I have force shield+force sheathe and mini-gun 3 with accelerated metabolism, I'm nearly always full of energy now in a battle, so the last big guy of a group gets a full length conc beam.
The other thing you can't account for with math is dealing the damage you need. If a baddie is low on health, you have to charge that PG just right to not waste energy. Granted, it's not a lot, but it's there all the same.

Did you miss the point I was making?
A tap of conc beam uses almost as much energy as a full 1.5s PG.
You aren't "wasting" energy by over charging PG compared to conc beam. You are wasting energy tapping conc beam, if taping PG would work.

I'm just throwing this out there because it seems lots of PA folks are posting in here. I picked up Field Drones at 20 (because I felt I had the other bases covered with Concussor Beam, Micro Munitions, Power Gauntlet, Wrist Bolter and Mini Gun) and I wanted something to help with healing/damage mitigation. I think they work really well for that.
Does no one else use Field Drones?

I took them on my PA who has Invuln but they are minor at best ... may go with Psionic Healing instead.

I had field drones in beta. By the end of beta, I kindof hated them. then they got nerfed a bit, and I laughed.
Then they altered the pathing.
If the pathing changes made them viable, I don't know. but they were incredably unreliable.
Heals that you have direct control over are far more useful under most circumstances. (ignoring inability to self target all too often, due to terrible targeting ui.)

no, I didn't, sorry if It sounded that way. However, I think you missed mine. I don't ever Tap the conc beam. Well, rarely. The only time I do is when there's only one weak guy left and it doesn't matter because I will recharge before I attack the next group.

Yeah, I'm having this conversation a lot lately. "Life bar getting low, where the F are my Field Drones? Oh, there they are, 40 yards away healing each other." Or, "Ah yes, there they are. Healing that other guy who isn't me... and also not in my party."
I'm starting to see their flaws.
