I did a search and did not find posts for suggestions on the Sell Tab for NPCs.
NPC UI improvements (Sell Window)
1) The sell window should be in a drag/drop format. This very annoying in a list format, while not only having to look for the items you want to sell, but having to do it for every item. No fun at all. I had a bag full of sockets and quest items the other day, and it took me a good 10 minutes to sort and re-organize just because I didn't want to make a mistake on the sell screen. This takes away from gameplay. Look at Fallout 3 and your very own Champions trade window for great examples of how this is easier and takes much less time to complete the transaction. This format would work best here.
2) There should be a buyback option with vendors. Due to the poor layout of the "Sell" screen, I accidently sold some socket powers that were part of my second build. If the sell window is re-designed, then this will not be an issue since the format will be much easier to absorb by the average player that doesn't want to waste time having to organize his bags just to sell and get back into questing.
3) filter options on the "Sell" screen. This annoying... very very annoying. Trying to find what you want to sell in the item list of the sell screen is a nightmare. If you change it to drag/drop like trade, this issue will go away.
4) bag order for item list. Why does it pick my right most bag as the default for top-listed items in the Sell screen? this is counterproductive as all items mainly drop in your main back and extra bags are usually used to keep things you don't want to sell... thus forcing the player to yet again spend time organizing his bags so he doesn't accidentally sell his precious socket skills because of all the confusion.
I think the sell window altogether just doens't function well, not for speed, and definitely doesn't make an effort to keep the player rolling through whatever it is he/she was doing. When you have to take time to do something that the interface could be doing for you, it's no fun.
I think the ONLY thing the sell windows does well is this; If you've already spent all the time figuring out where everything should be in your bags, the cursor in the Sell Window actually has a memory for position... so just click sell...sell...sell...sell until you're done. But YOU, the player, must still manually arrange all your items to acheive this point, which in my opinion is a waste of a player's time.
I can see some people really liking this feature, and I can see why. If the Sell tab overall can be changed to be much more efficient and less confusing, the fact that there would be no list or cursor memory can be easily overcome. Just add something in the game controls where you can just do a key combo to sell items while the Sell tab is active, like CTRL-CLICK bag items to "Quick-sell".
Anyone have any other thoughts on the sell screen, or any ideas on how to improve it? Looking foward to seeing what other think of it.
