I have tried to take all the advice I can find in the forums about electric builds and this is what I came up with. Any suggestions and ideas are appreciated so please post away.

dont rank chain lightning to rank 2 or lightning helix which is bad since you wont use it much after getting GIGABOLT.

i'd recommend getting GIGABOLT ASAP [level 14] and put on it DEATH ARC.

replace ionic revebration with force shield level location.

I wonder how field surge would work - myself still thinking if to take resurgence or field surge

This pretty much hits the nail on the head. While Lightning Arc is amazing damage, Gigabolt will allow you to destroy the packs of quest minions and what not while you get to the next power level to take Lightning Arc.

You CAN retcon out of Chain Lightning. I find that most of the other lightning guys I pass do not use this power. It is either Gigabolt for AoE (dangerous at times as it can pull adds in liars) or Lightning Arc for single target dps (I pull aggro with it all the time :x).

I am curious about taking Field Surge before you even have PFF. I guess it acts like Unbreakable without invul, workable but not yet at its max. Saying that a pff char with Field Surge and Unbreakable is pretty durable, but would still get destroyed by focus fire.

Early, your bread and butter will be sparkstorm/force sheild. Force sheath and electric personality are ASAP abilities.

In my build I chose to have regen where you have electric form. EF is nice, but with recovery as a superstat, regen is a life saver for me. Part of that is my teleport ability, to get out of trouble if need be. But I switch back and forth between EF and Regen and find that Regen lets me kill more faster.

The big benefit for electric form, frankly, is fully charged Gigabolt.

Anyway, the regen idea is up to you completely. I rarely see it in electric builds, but its a lifesaver for me.

I'm pretty new to the game, but I went with roughly the same here for the start, but I took EF at level 8 and made upgraded Sparkstorm with Electric Personality, and I don't regret for a second.
I'm going to follow the advice and not improve Chain Lightning actually.
