What does one do if one neglects crafting till level 15?

I rolled a new char today and decided for the first time since I played OB that I would try my hand at crafting. I found that once I figured out how it all worked, it was pretty easy to pick up, and seemed like it would be endlessly useful later in the game for both my own means as well as economical means.

So with this realization, here's my problem,

The character I really would like to continue playing (have a 17 that I shelfed after the mass nerfs on the 1st) is level 15, but hasn't done a lick of crafting. Is there a way I can get the low level mats and such things easily in order to work my way up to the equivalence of my character level? The things that I had that I was able to research/dissasemble, all gave me mats that my level of crafting doesn't really use yet. I would just go to Canada or the Desert and hang out around the arms cases, but I wasn't sure if there was a better way or not.

If possible, I'd like to not have to re-roll unless it'll save me a lot of time.

Sorry about the long-winded post, just wanted to make sure I got all the details. :P

You should just continue to research items until you get 90-100 Skill, then go to a trainer and buy the Skill up (Store menu item). After that, you continue to research items. You should get from 1 to 91 Skill by researching 9 items of your own level, so it's not like it's going to cost you much. Just grab a couple of Arms mission rewards and that should do it.

The Skill 1-100 items are for level 1-10 characters and thus not much use for your level 15.

Yeah, thanks. That's pretty much what I did, went back to the beginning of the desert in order to scrounge up some basic mats to craft a few things which I then researched and just recycled till I hit 100. Only took about an hour.

If you really need the skill 1-100 materials after the beginner crisis zones, there are places in Canada and the Desert that do have them. A good place to look might be the Ghost Town in the Desert area. Anywhere with level 8-10 mobs around should have at least some.

Typically, there aren't mass resource nodes available anywhere else outside the two beginner crisis zones. However, it's very rare to see people competing over them. So gathering shouldn't be too much of an issue.
