So I noticed today that on one match I lost, the other team had way more kills than we had deaths. I'm assuming this comes from killing "pets" but that's rather silly imo.
That encourages me to spend time killing the other team's badly-placed munitions bots, for instance (IE, they're somewhere ineffective), rather than attacking a real threat. It also punishes the side that relies on pets more, unless I'm missing something.
Maybe those kills don't count toward ending the match? Not sure, but if someone knows either way, please enlighten. :)
