I'm still trying to figure out how to best present info on my site for champions since the current config is more villainous than heroic. However here are some somewhat hidden quests and perks inside the tutorial area while battling those evil aliens.
*WARNING* All information below is consider walkthroughs and contains spoiler info. The spoiler info is telling you where to find these quests and how to complete them. If you want to look for yourself do not read beyond this point.
Quests
Student Buddies
This quest is started by talking to a woman just past the first police blockade area. She is near the building in which you grab the items for the Mayor's quest to retrieve his property. Finding her in the little alley way and talking to her you will be given the task of escorting her to her friend. Luckily her friend isn't too far away (near the tent with the mayor), but you will have to deal with some aliens.
This quest isn't super difficult, but I really had no idea of where to locate her until today when I really went exploring.
Cat-astrophy
Like the Student Buddies this quest really threw me off because I saw the woman talking about her cat. However I didn't know where poor little "reggie" was located.
To find the cat head down the street like you are going to your next contact after the level 1-2 area. Off to your left you should see an alley way with some Qularr beating up on a civilian. You can free him if you like, but move passed them and off to your left in the middle of a U shaped dirt/debris patch you'll see an animal crate. As you near the crate you'll get a prompt and be given the chance to interact with it.
One thing to note is you will HAVE TO open up your inventory then click on your newly obtained cat carrier to receive the quest. This quest will have you find poor reggie's owner who is near your 3rd checkpoint in the Tutorial. The woman will be a citizen within the police area and after you talk with her you will complete the quest.
Speed Sed *Possibly a miss naming of the quest*
This is one that I actually didn't find until I started to explore like Cat-Astrophy. Facing the Dr. Silverback *name/sp* console near the Battle of Ironclad you will turn around. Looking off towards the left just a bit you'll see a small little area between two buildings.
Here you will kill 2 alien Qularr and receive a prompt for this quest to rescue a hero. I do not recommend attempting this quest unless you are atleast level 3 to 4. You will be fighting a villain class creature which has a nasty knockback and with adds will certainly due you in.
After killing the villain you will have to destroy the cage holding the captive hero in question.
*Side Note* This hero is needed for talking to all of the heroes for a perk award.
Side Quest
Foxbat Rescue *Know this isn't the right name*
You can find this quest in an alley way near or passed the area with the ambulances. As an extra bit of help to guide you to him Foxbat will be calling out for help shouting out some interesting phrases *My favorite is "I'll feature you in my next comic book"*.
This is relatively simple in that you just have to destroy or lift up the debris off of Foxbat and he will thankyou. After you do this though MAKE SURE to talk to him to receive the quest to find his item. To find "Foxbat's Case" just go a little past foxbat and in a bit of debris near the corner of the building you'll find it. Just examine/interact with the case you will be rewarded with Foxbat's pingpong gun.
Perks
One question i've heard about is speaking with Ironclad and to answer this question you receive it after you do the HQ quest for champion's hall. The only person you have to actually look for is Kinetic when you are doing the Speed Sed quest. After you free kinetic he'll thankyou and you should receive an update for talking to the heroes.
Hidden Perk "Redbug Down"
I actually never knew there were hidden exploration perks like this and feel I missed some, but atleast I got this one. You can obtain this one by locating the alien Qularr ship near the starting area then climbing ontop of it. Head towards the front of it *The front or possibly back is the thing with 2 antae that overlooks the streetway to the 2nd checkpoint* and you will automatically receive this hidden perk point.
As of now after exploring close to 80% of the tutorial area I haven't located any other hidden perk explorations points. However I did miss this one so there could be 1 or 2 more located somewhere that I missed.
Anyways hope this helps out my fellow champions and hope this doesn't anger too many people with me giving this info away. :D:cool:
